Sorry you are wrong, people earning 50K are facing energy price increase of over 200% just like anyone else. Plus food plus other bills etc etc etc, everything has gone U.K. but wages have not. Do you think their are tens of millions of millionaires out there buying iPhones?
Yea at least for us in US gas has nearly come all the way down, and our cooling/heating aren't out of control. Groceries are the worst and still haven't dropped to match gas. But overall seems worse to raise prices in the countries with the worst inflation.

EDIT: and also beyond despicable to charge for a feature that could save your life.

I have a question, I am eligible for an upgrade but still owe on the phone, i was messing around with the pricing and settings on the apple website and I noticed something curious, I‘m always on a monthly payment plan due to frequent upgrade cycles or at least I was but I skipped out on the 13 pro
I noticed That military veterans discounted apple website that I can get the 10% discount with the contract for ATT for that monthly price, has anyone had success in the past with this? My experiences with military veterans page has always been to fully pay the devices to get the discount but I was surprised to see the option to get them monthly with the discount already cheaper than what ATT would had offer me if I went directly with them. I was just curious Thanks.
I was hoping to get the 512gb for the price of the 256gb or what I’m paying now at the moment.

In Sweden the 14 Pro costs 1500 dollars (14995 kr) we do have a 25% tax, but that is a HUGE price increase!! When 13 Pro came it costed 1230 dollars (12290 kr)

So 999 dollars went to 1230 dollars before
now 999 dollars is 1500 dollars! :D yay!
same in hungary 😅 13 pro 424000 Ft = 1073$ / now 14 pro 569990 Ft = 1442 $

In Europe the prices are ridiculous. I don’t know what they expect from the next months, but with winter and enormous problems with energy and inflation (we don’t have gas, americans, our factories and industries will stop), I seriously doubt they’ll set a sales record. With 500€/month electricity bill, people won’t rush buying an iPhone at 1339€

yeah, don’t want to say anything further as I don’t want to ruin it for those who will be buying it and it’s bad enough worrying about it all as it is.

But it’s a great device for sure. Although the new 14 Pro Max is a tad on the heavy side it must be said, I definitely think a titanium chassis would have helped it. Those new cameras are seriously impressive.

13 mini is tempting at $599 (coming from an 11 pro), but I think the improvements in the pro-line are too impressive to ignore - especially if you really like taking photos...

Apple knows their user base gererally aren't the ones worried about rising food and fuel costs.
Given that the majority of iPhone owners (65%-85% as of 2022) make the U.S. median income or less, it's safe to say most of the Apple user base IS (or should be) actually worried about rising food and fuel costs.

It's not like iPhones are the "expensive phones" anymore, ether with the 14 Pro Max coming in at half the price of many higher-end Android phones, and still 10%+ cheaper than the comparable Galaxy. Half of my family has defaulted to iPhone as the "budget" choice because the "cool" Androids are too expensive.

“Sorry you are wrong, people earning 50K are facing energy price increase of over 200% just like anyone else.”

Energy prices have tripled??!!

That's what a 200% increase means. Think about it. If a price of 100 has an increase of 200%, it ends up at 300! Or, triple where it started!

Any evidence there's been that big an increase in household energy prices?

Even if it were true, those with wealth and high incomes — think $150,000+ and 500K-1M in assets — can readily absorb it. Unlike the rest of us…😎

Compared to that, Apple's prices for its updated models have “barely” nudged! They certainly haven't tripled.

The Watch SE — with more features now — even had a price drop — at least in the U.S.!
Yea you always have the crazy rich, but other than the ones going homeless or another terrible consequence from inflation, you have the middle class people who used to be able to get some wants, but now can only get needs.

Rising costs of other things aren't necessarily going to change the phone you buy, just how often you buy one. At this point most people have already determined their comfort level for how much to spend when they do buy.

I’m sorry but IMO they are now overpriced in the U.K. no excuse for it either. They could easily swallow any inflation costs, I think they’ll lose sales now especially cost of living crisis. The US is also suffering from high inflation, it’s a bit of an insult that product prices are going up everywhere expect the US.

£949 for the base iPhone 14 Plus, £849 for the base iPhone 14! That’s just too much. and that’s not mentioning the Pro iPhones.
Absolutely nothing wrong with UK pricing at all. For the iPhone 14, here’s the breakdown:

UK price including 20% sales tax (VAT): £849
Remove VAT (£169): £680
£680 to USD according to Siri: $785
US cost: $799 + state sales tax where applicable.

1449€ here in Germany/Austria for the BASE 128gb pro max!! Absolutely unbeliveable, and if you know the German market, everyone likes their Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis (Price-performance ratio). I think Apple will fail miserably this year in the European market, as even wealthier people will start looking elsewhere. And people that buy on a 24 months contract basis will also asks themselves whether this is really justified, especially as other manufacturers actually have viable, yet much cheaper alternatives.

Europeans usually don't take out debt as much as Americans, and are more price-conscious. To ask for THIS MUCH for a small upgrade is starting to feel ludicrous, and I personally don't know many people who will look at a price of 1449€ for a base phone and say "ok, great, I'll buy it".

I predict a big win for Android and Google in Europe in the upcoming year/years.

Apple itself also offers lower cost refurbished iPhones.

With a guarantee too. I really want a Max iPhone. I may look at the 12 Pro Max in the stunning blue colour but it has that Intel modem in it :(

Prices have gone up,in the U.K. over the last models, they haven’t gone up in the US. Neither has VAT gone up. Yeah nothing wrong with the global price increase so long as you can afford it. Have US sales tax increased? Because that’s the only way your argument makes sense.

And now add the European prices where our worthless currency literally caused last year's iPhone 13 to be more expensive today than yesterday. Instead of a $100 price decrease, we got an increase. Could literally buy an iPhone 13 cheaper yesterday than today. Don't even get me started on the 14's prices 😂
Yep. I even checked with Wayback Machine to see if I was imagining things. I wasn't.
iPad Air 5 got more expensive here, too. As did the watch bands. Not by much, but an increase nevertheless.

Granted, I wasn't going to buy anything but now I'm not going to buy anything for a good while...
