U.S. customers can prepare for the iPhone 16 launch using the "Get Ready" pre-order setup. This process allows you to select your iPhone model, confirm your carrier, and enter payment and shipping details in advance.

For those wanting a device on launch day, immediate pre-ordering is recommended. Supply availability is uncertain, and popular models or colors may sell out within minutes or hours.

The iPhone 16 starts at $799, while the iPhone 16 Pro begins at $999, matching the iPhone 15 series pricing when they debuted last September. U.S. carriers are offering various discounts. Apple also provides the iPhone Upgrade Program and trade-in options to reduce costs.

Pre-orders open on September 13. The first iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro orders will be delivered to customers on Friday, September 20.

Is anyone else a member of the iPhone Upgrade Program not able to get their preorder set up?
It says I'm not a member of the iUP even though I am. Apple support doesn't seem to have a fix for this either.

Cue the complaints about the phone being disappointing and that nobody will order it. Then pre-orders will start to sell out/dates slip, and then we can move on to the part where everyone is sure all the phones are going to get returned in a weeks time.

Rise/repeat.

I've not yet gone through the preorder setup. Will be doing so later this afternoon. But my eyebrows are now raised.
Are you still unable to complete?

here and there but not over there
I'm a member but I'm skipping this year because... meh. This is only the second iPhone I have skipped.
I am (was) a member, skipped last year. Ordering this year. Got first a message 'you are an upgrade member' walked through the pre-order, and then it told me I was no longer a member. Had to order as new phone (would have that expected in first place, just wired how it first tried to go through the upgrade and then failed). But all set now for tomorrow.

Unfortunately, I had this issue several years ago. Was on Apple's end and a time consuming nightmare to fix. My advice, keep escalating. That's the only way I got mine corrected.

Good luck!

I was able to go through mine. Not sure where your error is occurring, but make sure you unfreeze your credit for a few days.

When I went to check my upgrade availability, it said my iPhone 14 Pro is paid off and for me to keep, if I want to rejoin the upgrade program apply as a new member. Went through that process in about 30 seconds. I did all this Monday, so I wonder if the system glitched when you attempted to do it.
