i hope it's a really small change, because i just got mine like 2 weeks ago ;)
i usually get it right with the timing on apple products... didn't expect this so soon..

Also got mine 2 weeks ago. Like the last ones it may be months before they're available. That makes the current purchase worthwhile. Otherwise, I would have waited.

They most likely added an extra hour of talk time and two extra hours of music playback....hopefully

There must be more to it than just the light?

I just received mine yesterday, interested to see what Tuesday brings then......

There will be. There could be more internal updates with extended battery life, Pairing capabilities, etc. I doubt the only update is relocating the LED light.

Having the original ones I prefer the indicator light inside rather than outside. If there’s no improvement otherwise I will gladly keep version 1.

if they confirm that nothing about the airpods themselves changed, i will make sure to get the 1st version since i like the LED inside better than on the front

I love mine and won’t be changing. What I do hope is, like has been said before, Apple has a way of manufacturing these quicker. Cause they’re fantastic but I got mine by chance, and plenty are still waiting.

Black airpods and a way of increasing volume without using he siri or getting your iphone out of your pocket. Love the new pause/unpause feature in ios 11 with airpods. Now some controlls for volume.

Will they support Bluetooth 5.0 is the question. I need more range!!

Is this so you can be charging your iPhone and listening to your AirBuds in another room? The current range seems pretty far for an iPhone resting in your pocket and AirBuds in your ears.

The current ones are still awesome. Blew my strippers mind when I said, "here's an extra Benjamin if you go off my Spotify list." Gave one AirPod and I got the other.

Let's just say she took "champagne room" to another level. Lol

Good thing I saw this. I was just about to order the current ones now that the shipping times have come down.

quite surprised that there might be a new airpod, especially given that shipping has been slow for months.

glad i hasn't get one yet and i am still on iphone 6s plus

The case has the same clamshell design as the current model, but has one noticeable difference: the LED charging indicator "status light" has moved from the inside of the case to the outside.

Yeah, it totally looks like a clamshell....

I think some of you are so ready to buy whatever the hell apple puts out that you'll buy these even if there's no difference from your first gens but the light being on the outside

KEEP YOUR AIRPODS AND BE HAPPY. These things are the best product to come out of apple in years and have honestly changed my life. I couldn't be more happy with them.

AptX 24-bit Bluetooth capable AirPods 2 to coincide with 24-bit MQA streaming on Apple Music (+free Apple Music w/ iPhone X)

In yet another leak sourced from the iOS 11 GM, developer Steve Troughton-Smith has uncovered a render of the new version of Apple's AirPods. Troughton-Smith noted that while a render of the "iPhone X" has not been discovered within the firmware (yet), the LTE Apple Watch and now the new AirPods each have renders in the golden master of iOS 11.

Unsurprisingly, the new AirPods look a lot like the old AirPods, with an all-white charging case and white buds. The case has the same clamshell design as the current model, but has one noticeable difference: the LED charging indicator "status light" has moved from the inside of the case to the outside.

When the AirPods are in the case, the LED shows the charge status of the pods, but if they are removed from the case then the LED shows the status of the case itself. Green indicates charged, while an amber glow means less than one full charge remains. In today's short video, the LED appears to be flashing white, which Apple's support website currently explains as an indication that the AirPods are ready to be set up with another device, suggesting some of the same LED patterns will be on the new AirPods.

Last night, the first wave of iOS 11 GM leaks included references to "AirPods 1,2," which could be the updated version of the wire-free headphones that have been shared today. Of course, with just one image and a two-second clip it's impossible to say what other new features might be coming to AirPods 2.0, or if Apple is ready to announce the new model as soon as Tuesday's upcoming iPhone X event.
