Do not activate wifi calling if you're with EE. iOS9 GM still has a bug where the commcenter process will use 110% CPU continuously if wifi calling is activated. Once it's activated on your EE account you can't deactivate it by simply turning wifi-calling off from the settings app. I imagine you might be able to clean it from your EE account by calling them up and asking. I'll know tomorrow :-(

Started to watch the video… immediately turned it off due to John Ivy's voice – tough listening to.
I can't listen to this anymore either. Sound like a cult or something.

Also, we apple fans do not realize how absolutely weird these keynotes seek to ordinary people.
When I was watching WWDC and my brother came in and watched it with me for a while he was laughing his ass off.
"Amazing" "incredible" "super easy"

I don't speak for everyone, I know, but I think catching up is what a lot of people are getting tired of. These products aren't cheap.

I would tend to agree. While I don't expect every iphone release to be revolutionary every year, you would expect something new, never been done before every 2-3 years.

These phones are expensive just to get caught up to competitors that are cheaper, and in some cases, iPhones are still behind the times.

While I think it's unrealistic to expect Apple to release "revolutionary" every time, I am becoming discouraged that they only know how to play catch up and the original iPhone that put them back on the map was really just pure luck.

Maybe people have been giving Apple more credit in "innovation" and "revolutionary" than they really deserve.

Not really sure why people are so worried about no 4k on Apple TV. The standard hasn't fully taken off and instill a few years out, at the least, to become ubiquitous. Once there is enough content to consume we will probably see a 4k upgrade. Not a whole lot there to make me buy it, but 4k didn't make a difference either way.

It baffles me that after all these years people still expect Apple to release a product in which the OS does all the heavy lifting.

The iPad Pro will be as good as developers make it. That always has and seems like will continue to be Apple's philosophy - that the device and its OS are simply a portal through which developers can immerse customers in their apps/content.

This was one of the moe exciting keynotes in recent memory IMO. Not sure how the competition will do after these products are released.

I'd have been ecstatic with everything we heard plus a 32gb entry level device. I'm really contemplating my "loyalty" at this point. Yeah, yeah, they're a business and need to make money. I'm just notnsirenifnits my money they will be taking lol.

I'm actually more excited about the new Ipad Mini 4. .. Finally a real upgrade.

Me too, and it was pretty obvious they just threw it in.

Most of the products are fine, but they are missing the extra consideration. Take multitasking on the aTV4 for example. The reason many would do something besides watching the show is because they aren't interested in what is currently going on. They are entertaining themselves until they get to the "good part". Pausing the content makes multitasking disruptive.

Im surprised no one has mentioned the fact that the M9 chip is apart of the A9 chip now?

Allowing for always on 'Hey Siri'

I'm not sure what other smartphone has 3D Touch.....I think that would constitute something new. In my opinion it will be game changing. Some many wonderful shortcuts.....it looks really, really cool.

3d touch will be badly implemented in a samsung galaxy next year you just wait and see.

Apple did a lot of catching up too, the iPad pro was basically the surface pro 3 but better implemented. The apple pencil, stupid name but actually looks like they tackled all the things i hate about styluses i was actually impressed with it and i had thought i would never see one. Thankfully steve jobs last words have melted away from the company.

I feel like apple is offering too many options now though, it should be 3 product tiers per category.

ipad mini, air and pro. Get rid of all the different models in each like air and air 2 and mini 2 and mini...4 (what happened to three?)

It's a shame we're seeing hardware specific things for different machines such as the pencil for iPad pro and 3d touch on iPhone 6s and 6s+. i would have thought that both things could be on both but i suppose it's ok but what do you give to the iPad later on?

I'm just hoping we get some features on iPhone 6 that were mentioned.

The TV looks better again i hope to get an updated apple tv that can still do a few things, i know it defo won't have apps on the current 3rd gen but i can dream i guess.

Best thing of the whole event was the use of tilt and pressure on the pencil and also the use of palm and fingers to control a ruler all while drawing! Now that made me want on. Although i could buy the finest artismal paper and art supplies for years before i spent the same cash.

Exciting times, i hope to see tv games really explode, they just have to advertise it like a nintendo Wii killer and implement game switching etc better.

The watch bored me, i just don't get it at all and see no reason for apple to have invested so heavily when 5 years down the road might have garnered better tech or advances that make it a better idea, right now it's just pointless and i can see developers dropping it from their supported lists over the next couple years.

Should really note the output resolution of the new AppleTV - its still 1080p (not 4K)
Considering the iPhone 6s can record 4k it does seem odd, but i think the issue is there is no 4k 60hz HDMI right now and won't be for a while, you can support 30z but it looks like ass.

The 4k tech just isn't ready yet and i think apple must have cut a bunch of cost by doing that when 4k isn't right now anyway. I bet you most people who want 4k watch 99% of their content on highly compressed broadcasts, youtube etc anyway, only blurray actually does 1080p at high quality which is indistinguishable from 4k unless you are pixel peeping at 2ft.

I say 4k should come but not right now.

Apple TV - it's got potential, though don't get announcing 4k recording on iPhone 6S and not being to be able to playback on the TV, Apple has to join the dots.

I believe this happened before with another (original?) AppleTV at one point. I remember at one point shooting video on my phone and it not being able to play on the AppleTV without conversion, but I don't remember which phone or which AppleTV.

[QUOTE=" . . . .ATV could be way more and no 4K? WTF. Still I will probably get one..[/QUOTE]

This. So agree.
They would've really been the leader if they had done that. Roku still not 4K. This would've been a great feature, especially where You Tube has 4K offerings now. You just have to have a smart TV that can run the App. I also wish the ATV would do the Visualizer now when playing music. But even if it did, would look better in 4K. I hook my MBP Retina up and the visualizer looks stunning on my large 4K screen.

So here's the thing. You're wrong about the HDMI cable. It's considered HDMI 2.0. The cables are designed to support 4k at 60hz. Not all of them, but you can find some on Amazon.

Second. 4k has taken off already. Netflix is the first to jump on it. Hulu will be there shortly. Videos are being formatted for that quality as we speak. It won't take YEARS to fully implement (use Moore's law even though its more about silicon), it will take more than likely a single year for full implementation. 4k is coming out and coming out real soon. Apple will fall behind on the broadcast aspects of it.

BETTER implemented?!? It's just a larger iPad. Not only no real full OS, it still doesn't even have USB or a memory card slot or file system or anything.

I was hoping they at least switched to USB, and would have probably bought one as an ereader + tablet to supplement my iPad 2, but now I think I'm just going with a Surface 3 or Pro 4 when that hits next month-ish. (Tempted to get a Pro 3 with a coupon I've got, but I assume the 4 is just a month or two out and will upgrade from Haswell to Skylake. Heck, the Surface line even runs quite a lot of my real/full games lol)

Doing any of that would be a step backwards.

Why was the iPad successful? Because it was the first tablet with a mobile OS. Tablets are not meant to have desktop OS.

You described why I no longer use an iPhone. The don't offer enough extra value for the price. I can get a damn good phone that compares well to an iPhone in a lot of ways for less than $500. I'd probably rather still use an iPhone, all things being equal, but to me there isn't enough extra "value" in the iPhone to justify the increased cost. And it didn't used to be this way. Three years ago, nothing Android could really compare to the iPhone.

So no update to iPad air? And how long will it take for iPad to see 3D touch?

Tim Cook really needs to go. Each new "update" turns out to be nothing but disappointment.

The new Apple is all about gimmicks, marketing and profit margins, and little in way of substance and progress.

These events get lamer and lamer each year. And frankly, so do apple products. I get that most innovations tend to be derivative and incremental, but somehow apple's keynotes now are just boring... a bigger iPad? new iphone? new iwatch colors? big whoop... or is it me?
