The least Apple could do is make a "guest" log in option, where you can designate it only having access to limited apps that the main user can specify. Kind of like how you can look up information on the web with Siri while it's locked, but can't access anything beyond that.
I am really surprised they didn't implement something like this when the iPad came out since it's even more likely to be shared between people than an iPhone or iPod Touch.
Man the app store reviewers have gotten slack. I remember back in the day when I would submit an app, it would get rejected because of crazy stuff like "if a user spins a spinner on a certain screen and clicks back while the spinner is still spinning, the application crashes."
I think he's asking "why did you specifically point out that he's German".
I'm embarrassed to report that I read his post initially as "Italian, Swiss, American, Cheddar".
Though not exactly the answer, there is Guided Access.
No you can't.
Finally, I can get rid of newsstand![]()

Ah missed getting this app! Would have been so nice to be able to hide the stupid Apps like newstand from my iPhone. Why apple, why must you be this way!!!
Just restore your iPad to a backup you made before installing the software.
So you would consider that solution a "feature" of iOS? Kinda like having to go into System Prefs to disable Wi-Fi?
3 taps too much for you?
I would like to hear a legitimate reason why Apple is unwilling to allow us to remove apps that we don't want. I don't see this threatening security or anything. If they are concerned that we will permanently delete an app, it would be incredibly easy for them to just allow all stocks apps to be re-downloaded via the App Store. In fact, they could even push updates to these app separately, as has been the strategy on other OS's including OSX.

Nope. Its the simple fact that it is not a feature, rather a bug. This wasn't meant to be allowed. Apple obviously patched the original workaround, and then someone found this. This IS useful, however it is not a feature, and I see it getting patched eventually.
There are a couple reasons.
They want to make as much money from you as possible.
They are stubborn and ignorant.
They don't care what YOU think, they cater to the idiots.

Takes a couple tries to get the hang of it, but it works perfectly.
that doesn't work, the newsstand doesn't go from the third page to the first page, but it works from second page to first page but tats irrelevant bc it doesn't go in the folder.
well done macrumors, you've let EVERYONE down.
good job its still possible, best not tell you guys incase you blab to apple, again
Nope, that's normal behavior. Just a security measure from Apple, if someone got a hold of you idevice and used it to download something.
but it never did that before
i download all the apps on my iphone and never experienced that.
You gotta love how Americans think ".de" is "Denmark."
I love how you act like you're anonymous and this frustration defines you as a person.
Also, everyone knows who you are. Your name is right beside your post.
