I hope they don't go back to one size personally -- I love the 5.5" form-factor, but don't see them ever making that "the" only form-factor.

Having used a 4" 5c recently, it felt cramped and limited. But, it's a personal thing for sure, to each their own.

I hate to say it, but the iPhone is getting to expensive. Base price + a premium for more storage + a premium for Plus size + a premium for a better camera = far to much for a phone. A $1000 phone will be the straw that makes me jump ship.
I have been dispointed with the iPhone camera for the last two years, so a base model without the upgraded camera is not an option for me to purchase.

Damn I thought I had an iPhone 6 pro there for a sec. Now its two lenses that make a pro machine...times have changed.

Means the price will go up again.

Sadly its becoming less and less affordable outside the US, with the Strong US dollar. I think this will hurt the sales of the 7.

why will the smaller 4.7 inch phones suffer with inferior cameras when all other companies like samsung with s7 are bringing better cameras to all of their lineups? I wont pay higher prices for this and maybe I will keep my current iphone instead of upgrading if there is nothing new on camera side.

Not that I wanted to +1 on Apple raising the ASP, but this is spot on IMO.

It's probably the leading reason why we haven't seen 32GB baseline iPhones (to push people to pay more for 64GB and increase that ASP), just as a relevant example for iPhones.
Yes and that has worked very well.

How is an IPhone Pro? I can see how Apple reached out to it’s earlier audience of creatives for the iPad Pro, but an iPhone is utilitarian. A ‘Pro’ is not going to use an iPhone as their go-to tool for photography, illustration, etc.

"We've taken one of the most adored features of the iPhone - and now made it more expensive for you to keep up with our technology. But don't worry - while the price might be thicker, the phone will be thinner" - Jonny Ive

Pro just means sophisticated, better. Understandable suffix.

This Pro naming is getting out of hand, literally: the 4.7" and 5.5" iPhones are too big to hold.

On a serious note, it annoys me so much. There will be nothing Pro about iOS until Apple deigns to turn it into a grown-up operating system. For as long as it lacks so many basic functions, it will condemn both the iPhone and the iPad to sub-optimal status.

Why oh why do Apple keep making one terrible mistake after another? I feel so much for the Apple fans who lived through the Steve Jobs era and have to endure the nightmare that is life today under Cook. We need regime change at the top. Shares down 30% in the past year. Down from 2012. Only a new CEO will revive Apple and lead it into a dawn of engagement. Craig Federighi might be that man.

It could also be
iPhone 7
iPhone 7 pro
iPhone 7+
iPhone 7+ pro

So a pro version not based on size but the dual camera, that would only be necessary if the dual camera's are to expensive or big to make it standard.

If they do this that means the iPhone Pro will most likely start at $850 for the base model and go up to $1050 or maybe even $1150 if the 256GB model rumor is true

It's sad, they are following the capcom branding path. I remember when Steve Jobs first introduced the remote controller back on 2005

Simplification, minimalistic design with functionality... (I'm looking at you magic mouse)

It can't be so dificult for a whole company to get to the branding point many of us have made here:

4' iPhone mini
4.7' iPhone
5.5' iPhone Pro

Same for macs

12 and 14 macbook
14 and 16 macbook pro.

That's a clear and effective line up... but no, SE, mini, pro mini, numbers, air, pro... what a mess.

Apple is in the business of generating shareholder value, not streamlining branding just for the sake of streamlining branding.

Could you say that in a way a dummie non-native english speaker could understand it? Not really sure if i get it, sorry.

OK, a "pro" moniker for a phone... any phone...is just an over-the-top-jump-the shark-midnight-infomercial-moniker. It makes my eyeballs hurt from rolling so much. Please, no, no, no.
