I honestly believe this could happen, a special dual lens model above the regular 7 Plus.

The thing is, if they can produce enough, the Plus should have the dual lens standard. That is the point of an iPhone, it's suppose to be the very best from Apple.

However, I can almost understand if the yield for the dual lens can't produce enough, but I'm telling you, most people are going to want the dual lens even if it's another $100 on top of the regular 7 Plus so the waits on the device would be massive.

I just think it's a shame though as we all know during some of Apple's worst years, they started this fragmentation and small differences between models.

The simplicity of before was nice, but perhaps the business isn't sustainable that way. I don't know.
If you notice since the iPhone 5s Apple has been releasing what I call a unicorn iPhone " the iPhone that is near impossible to find" to create a media and consumer frenzy.
Unicorn iPhones
2013: Gold iPhone 5s
2014: iPhone 6 Plus any color
2015: Rose Gold iPhone 6 and 6 Plus
2016: iPhone 7 Pro "Dual lens version"

Definitely will happen. What they don't say is this new iPhone Pro will expand into an iPad Pro with the optional fold out OLED screen and 256 GB of flash. If you want to know the price, you can't afford it.

*yawn Apple*

Only thing is what does that make ordinary 7 users? Unprofessional? Surely not. o_O

I tend to think they'll reserve the Pro with iPad and MBP until when the chipsets are truly fast enough to power a computer. (A9x is pretty close but no cigar).
I agree...I personally think it should be used for computers and ipads. Even though I like some apple products (at least the useful ones), I can't take them seriously no more. The "pro" name that they used back in the days when SJ was alive, it actually meant something. It was used to identify pro machines as advance type. As of late, Apple had been abusing "PRO" name to gain more money and not differentiating by functions. That's my opinion.

People seem to forget that the naming scheme will be similar to what Macs have.

iPhone
iPhone Pro (formally plus)

Though I don't agree with iPhone SE. iPhone Mini was better.

The PlayStation and Galaxy S brands have the right idea: consistency.

Frankly, I'm surprised a company like Apple whose base is simplicity has so much confusion in their products' names.

Samsung makes a phone called the "Galaxy S6 Edge Plus"

That's certainly a mouthful and not very simple.

Actually since last year I had a very strong feeling that Apple was planning on releasing a third variation of iPhone 7 which I dubbed the iPhone 7 Mega lol! Now here we are contiplatingvtgd existence of an iPhone Pro.

I mean - thinking of where I've seen the "SE" branding - only Win 98 SE and BMW 540SE comes up. It's definitely been done before I guess. It's not completely clean slate in terms of branding term to work with. Then again we'll have to wait until 21st March to see how it goes.

Can't see them dropping the numbers, at least before eight, given the sales the obsession with that number would bring in the Chinese markets.

Just get rid of the rounded edges of the phone. So damn slippery. I don't care about the camera as they are always well done.

Okay having:

iPhone 7 Plus*
- There's a SECOND iPhone 7 Plus with a different camera!
iPhone 7
iPhone SE
iPhone 6S Plus
iPhone 6S
iPhone 6 Plus
iPhone 6
and possibly a very cheap iPhone 5S but I doubt it

Would be absolutely insane. It should just be:

iPhone 7 Plus (ONLY ONE MODEL, DUAL CAMERA) 64GB/128GB/256GB $749/$849/$949
iPhone 7 - 64GB/128GB/256GB $649/$749/$849
iPhone 6S - 32GB $549
iPhone SE - 32GB/64GB/128GB $449/$549/$649

This would be a lot better. And the 6S/SE would have the A9, 2GB of RAM. It would be even better if BOTH iPhone 7's had the dual camera. Apple needs to quit selling people A6-A8/1GB of RAM devices as quickly as possible so we don't have people buying iPhone 6 Plus's already on iOS 13 or something that would open a single app, 10FPS animation, then crash and run out of memory. Move on, Apple. 1GB of RAM isn't going to cut it, 2GB is already debatable.

Also, I'm not sure what Apple will do with naming either. iPhone 7 and iPhone Pro would be confusing/weird. Would it be iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Pro? Oh and for iPad, iPad Pro 9.7 and iPad Pro? What about iPad mini? iPad mini, iPad Pro mini, iPad Pro?

iPad miniscule mini, iPad mini, iPad Pro?

lol I'm joking now but still. It is really awkward. They obviously don't like "Air" anymore, so the rumors of MacBook replacing MacBook Air are probably going to come true, I just have a feeling. That would not be a feasible replacement though, price/hardware wise unless the MacBook came down to $900 rather than $1300... especially considering the lackluster hardware/keyboard/ports/facetime camera. I love the overall design though.

iPhone and iPhone Pro
iPad and iPad Pro
Macbook and Macbook Pro.

Hmm. Definitely could be where they are going. Just makes me wonder what they'll do with the iPhone numbering after this year if they do that.

Let's not worry about the naming. The geniuses in Apple have 7 month to sort it out.

The "Pro" name seems to be tossed around like salad these days. Give me a "Pro" phone that has an OLED display, four speakers like the iPad Pro, 4GB RAM, 256GB+ storage, the ability to automate my taxes, and can switch to OSX and perhaps it'll be worthy of the name ;)
And you just tossed it some more.

Apple should also label the current iMacs as "Pro". WTF happened with the iMacs price range?!

Retina iMacs, that was just bad news for my budget...

a 'pro' without a headphone jack ? what was Apple drinking when they came up with this name?

A 'pro' to me means "better", not "worse" there are larger screens out there from bigger, better iphones than 4-inches..

At first i thought it would be iPad pro size.... but that was just playing. No one would buy it.

However having a small increase, doesn't really justify the word "pro" either, nor even a put out from previous 4-inch: iPhone 5s.

I figure Apple was just going by the fact it now Has "two" lenses, not one

Scratch all the features intended for this "iPhone Pro" and just stack them onto the iPhone 7+, Apple.

Sheesh.

Any further and the products haven't yet been released. (Although I think he did correctly predict gold aluminium Apple Watches and 7000 Series Aluminium iPhone 6s).

He does get a lot correct, more than most, but many of the misses are on new features or products as opposed to updates or release dates of existing ones.

He did predict a more premium iPhone 6 Plus with a Sapphire display, but that never materialised so it remains to be seen if this 7 Pro will.
A lot of his misses seem like actual Apple plans/prototypes which have then been changed though. The iPad Pro and the MacBook 12" probably had very long development cycles with multiple prototypes and missed timelines. Another example is the Sapphire screens, which we know were actually planned, but scrapped later because of manufacturing struggles.
