It looks to me that the BasicBear company just transferred the guts of an iPhone 5 into their custom plastic case.

Apple is know to not release specs about their phones to anyone until its official release (which is why you can't get cases from 3rd party manufacturers until after release, generally).

I will be very surprised if this is the actual look of the soon to be announced iPhone.

Blah, blah, blah! You will be the moron when this is released by Apple. Point me to a leaked production model within the last 10 years that has NOT been an Apple release?

I am not talking about fake specs, or fake ads.

Nope, you can't. This real, as real as the Mac Mini with all of those USB ports or that Mac running Intel inside or Apple maps that people will say "Apple will never allow...."

Every leak has been true, that's why Apple events are so boring, except the Mac Pro, that was a surprise, why? Because the damn thing hasn't been in production yet.
 
I don't understand some of the posts it looks cheap and it's still a tiny screen, it might be pretty all lined up as different colours but not after 6 months use, it'll look awful. Why won't Apple learn the screen is simply too small, side by side with an S3 the 5 and the 4 just don't look as good. I'll just keeping hanging on to my 4s until the do finally bring out a proper sized screen phone.
 
Edge to edge? Have a look at other bloody phones before you say that. That is not edge to bloody edge. HTC ONE still probably cheaper, with better everything than the next iPhone, even quality.
 
One question: why can't the front be white? Wouldn't it make sense to make the entire phone one color rather than black and white?

This is where you are wrong... this is not a leak... its an ad for the "Basic Bear".

If it were an actual leak that was spotlighting the actual iPhone... I'd believe it.

You can buy unlocked decent android phone for much less than 300 dollars.
Since hardware-wise iPhones and Androids are not that different, something tells me that a budget iPhone can be indeed under 349 dollars.

Unless you live in most places around the world where it will cost you $450 out of pocket. Most carriers do not offer subsidies.
 
Possible phony iPhone

I seem to remember seeing something that looks exactly like this, down to the iPhone name on it, but it was a cheap copy of an iPhone that actually was running Android.

I'll wait for Apple to release the final product then we can know what's real and what isn't.

A tip off is that there is imprinting underneath where it says 'iPhone" that makes it highly suspicious as to being a fake.

We'll find out either way in a couple of months.

You have to be pretty simple anyways to think that anything is free in this life. iPhone 4 for sure is not. Carrier subsidy is just a way of selling you an expensive two year contract. You still pay the phone, you just pay for it monthly instead of a down payment. I heard the US monthly bills are super-expensive, in Finland for instance the monthly costs are almost nothing if buy the phone with 100% down-payment.
 
I would buy it if contains latest technologies (not 2010 stuff). I really like the shape and the plastic. 429$ for the 32GB model sound reasonable.

Doubt it. Apple won't sell it for a dime under 450 for a 16 gb model. Take a look at the iPad mini. It costs 100 bucks more than what most 7 inch android models cost.

The 4 has 3 yr old hardware and costs 450 bucks with no carrier subsidy.

It's a strange thing --- the people who insist that "sheeple" buy Apple based on fashion are the ones most obsessed by it.

The back DOES NOT MATTER. What matters is the screen.
It may look like a cheap phone but I imagine it will do a far better job of balancing cost vs performance/features than other cheap phones. Which means that using it should still be delightful, rather than the frustration inherent in using other cheap phones. And that is the point.

Or, to put it differently, the goal here is not to sell this to the one billion poorest people in India --- that's for Nokia and the Chinese brands. It's to sell it to the 200 million people in India who can afford THIS iPhone experience but can't afford the full iPhone experience.

It's not a budget iPhone, it's a replacement for the iPhone 4S at the 450$ price point, due to the 4S still having the old Dock Connector and 3.5" display.

And they are selling more iPad Minis than Asus/Google is selling Nexus 7/Amazon is selling Kindle Fires^^
