It seems to me it was around the time of WWDC 2003 that he was made Editor and about a year later, when he became a God.

Congrats - you win the gold star. :)

Understand your point, but I would suggest that discussion such as this is good once in a while, both for long time members as well as for the newbies.

which is why we're letting this one continue. This is so far the healthiest discussion about it I've seen - no pointing fingers, calling names, or other unpleasantries. Thanks to everyone for keeping a civil discussion - usually this topic tends to go downhill fast.

I looked in some big dusty history books at the local library and found a notation made in calligraphy by an ancient scribe, showing that I was promoted to be an administrator way back in November 2005. I think it was a reward for going on vacation for a month and leaving everyone alone for a change.

Of course, once I was promoted, I had all of the history books rewritten.

I'm not saying anything specific happened, but we don't know all of the details that contributed to the banning. For example, there may have been some back-and-forth between technicolor and the mods via PMs that made it clear that a banning was appropriate. Again, not saying that that happened, but it's an example of an instance in which only the people who decided on the banning know the full story.
Well even I dont know why I was banned. I never received a pm from a mod, I just tried to log on and I got a message saying I needed to take a break. I sent an email and there was no reply. Funny to I was logging on to see how to donate....

*shrugs

Well, its best to take this up with the mods and not make a public issue of it. I don't know who banned you, but contact Q or Mudbug via PM and you'll get your answer.

I think this thread has run its course - if anyone has any questions about site management, take it up with the mods/gods.

Thanks,

D
