When the iPhone was 499/599 yes. And when it wasn't sold at Walmart.

Right. Having an Iphone didn't mean you were well off then either. I saw people from all backgrounds with them. People who maybe could afford it. To people who probably should have left the phone at the store. Devices such as phones are not indicators of such. As people knew when it was coming out with all the hype and saved up. Get over yourself.

I get several people at school saying im spoiled because I have an iPhone that my parents paid/pay for. If you have the money to get an iPhone then why not? And also a guy posted something along the lines of " If your under 16 or 18 then you shouldn't have an iPhone." Why not? It's a device that proves great use to me unlike any other phone i've owned.

At my college it doesn't really give people the impression that you are well off, just a lucky person.

Though my college is sadly expensive in tuition, so you could say I'm "well off", but I have lots of student loans... :(

No I don't think so considering nearly all my friends have one or are getting them, though maybe we are all just well off

These threads always turn into disasters. If you want to know if someone is well off, just look at their car or house. Geez.

I mean for us young people who are in college you know times are rough, living off ramen noodles and whatnot. But since you own a iphone do those around you consider you to be "paid"? or somewhat rich? I mean I have tons of friends who would kill for an iphone, but at the end of the day its an expensive gadget with an expensive billing plan

No, because I have no money because I have to pay $90 a month for a phone I don't *need.*

Well, I'm 18.

The only thing I got from my parents was the approval through ATT under their name to get it. I mean, an 18 year old with no credit will not be able to do it himself.

I do think that the $30/month plan is a little pricey, I can justify the regular phone plan since I don't have a home phone. I'd have to say I'm pretty independent. I need to pay for nearly everything, except for my schooling and their duplex they own and let me stay on one side rent-free.

Having an iPhone doesn't mean you're well off, but definitely throwing a lot of money away. Whether you pay for it or your parents pay for it.

I got my 3G, like, two months after I turned 19 without my parents permission and with low to no credit.

No one thinks I'm well off, just lucky that I can use YouTube whenever I want

ehhh whatever go pick up your social security check old man

Man, I lol'd so hard at that. Thanks.
