Oh trust me, it is now under consideration. If enough of us do that, I can only wonder what will happen with  computers and their prices.

I do not have the problems you are having with Hi Sierra. Frankly it runs just fine on my Mac (except its a little slow after a boot-up) but that has more to do with my standard HDD over anything as I do not have a SSD, and at the moment cannot afford one.

If you are talking about Windows 10 then you might think twice if you took the time to read the latest Windows 10 EULA's. As I recall the recent updates explain how they can revoke your license for using language online that they deem as unacceptable. Not only is it spying and collecting your data but it also appears to be monitoring your language, thoughts, etc.. and good luck if you think you can find and plug every data leak in that dam. I didn't even get into the issue of Win 10 updates ... that would require an entire thread of it's own. :(

For now I'll still choose Apple on it's worst day and I'll run Windows 10 safely sealed in it's VMs. Windows 7 Pro is still good but doesn't have much extended support left (it ends in Jan 2020). If the day comes that the apple falls completely off the tree and rots on the ground I'll be looking at Linux.
The wife has been a Windows 10 user since it was released. While it has growing pains like all OS's do, overall I find Windows 10 to be a stable, viable, and usable platform. As to the EULA's, not worried about what language we are using since we don't use that kind of language online, offline either. :) And Google and  are collecting info just like MS. Your eyes are wide open yet shut if you believe differently about . As to the update issues, there aren't any. Folks post that little bit of false info because they haven't set up their preferences to avoid those issues. Basically I'm saying that the issues you mentioned are a non issue for the majority of the users I know and work with.
And to answer a question before you ask it. I know all this because guess who is the technical support person for not only my wife but other friends who are still W10 users? Yep it's me.

Bump up to Mojave. Its extremely stable.
There are beta testers over in the Mojave forum that don't agree with you.

Yep it's me.

You've been a member here since 2009, and for the most part only post negative comments, IOW you seem to be a spammer. Please switch to windoz, as you have been threatening to do for years. We won't miss you. Unknown.jpeg

So sorry I'm not all sunshine and rainbows. But I will continue to come to forums to post my issues and hope for help and/or guidance.

^^^^But, if you switched you would be in a better place and would have no need to seek help and guidance because:

I might be in a better place if i switched. But for now, I am still heavily invested in the  ecosystem and hope there is some relief forthcoming. That is why I will continue to inhabit these forums, as well as other  sites and forums.
I'll see you around. ;)

I had a very low opinion of OS X when it was first released. I was happy plugging away on OS 9 on a Pismo. Yeah, the desktop looked dated in comparison, but it was fast and lean and quite stable.

The interface was soooo sluggish with .1 and .2 but finally because usable with .3, only to slow down again with the 10.4 update.

There have been a number of problematic 10.x updates, but its unfortunate that a .13 update would be so buggy, and offer so little in the way of meaningful upgrades compared to it's predecessor.

I don't even see many important changes in .14, although stacks and dark mode seem both interesting and useful. I'm simply looking forward to a little speedier and more stable system with the next major update, and recent beta's seem to show that Mojave will in fact deliver.

Exactly my experience and exactly my expectations for Mojave. Many more positive than negative responses in the Mojave forum. Fingers crossed.
