plus that first pic is a MBP and the second is a MB. i cant believe people havent worked this out yet… its not that hard! dont always believe what you see!

im surprised that Apple hasnt gone for that patent they applied for a while ago for a really thin ethernet port with a new connector that squeezes in. maybe theyll use it in the next redesigns to make the cases even smaller.

I know the MBP has that finer grill and MB doesn't, thats why i posted the photos to differentiate, anyhow i like the current boxy look more than the more rounded edges, am just hoping that they'll launch something in the 12" size, may be that'll show up as one more thing...

I'm so excited to see what Apple unveils this tuesday. I have been waiting since July 2008 for the new Macbook revision. I hope were getting LED as a standard feature on the new laptops.

Can't wait.:)

I personally thing there is more possibility of a 13" pro than 12" - Apple can just recycle the display strait from the MB/MBA... And many of the other design features (basic casing, lid, keyboard) could be reused... Just heaps more power... I would really love one of these. I absolutely cannot take a 15 inch laptop to some places my work etc takes me. But I really love the power of my son's 15" MacBook Pro. I can't get a MacBook (I currently use an okay HP in these situations) I need the extra graphics - and no, I will NOT get an air.

The apple keyboard allows you to plug a mouse in it.

He might be talking about the Pro, which currently has 3 USBs.

Current 15" MBP has two USBs, and we haven't seen any leaked pictures of 17", so we don't know if it isn't going to keep its three USBs.

I really don't think anyone would have suggested Air, since MacBook isn't powerful enough to you...

The new Macbook looks to have the exact same footprint and tracpad as the current model Macbook Air:

how would you know?

OK, with 5 pages to read this morning, and at the risk of repeating someone....

I figure out what was nagging at me yesterday.

WHY is the right side (inthis picture) reinforced on the palm pad area vs the other side? I don't think i have seen the inside of the current MBP, but i'm going to assume that means that there won't be something big/full over there to lend support while working. No battery filling that spot or something. at first i thought it was a channel for power to run thru - but that would be a repair nightmare.

Anyway..... oh, and for the record, i actually LOVE my BT MM. I need another - who had one sitting in the corner unused?? LOL!!!

Has anyone noticed all the small parts already assembled on the underside. Notice especially the long rectangular bars near the hinge. There seem to be some more very small ones near the long reinforcement bar at the base of the keyboard. Hmmmmm... very interesting and elegant machine work.

Otherside will support the Optical Drive.

You can see more detail at http://www.macx.cn/a/a4000I695495.htm

You can see the speaker grills, although where they are on the MacBook, I am not sure. I know it is in Chinese, but if you have not got a comely translator, there is enough English to make things out. The MB has a mini-dvi, but I cannot see an FW port, shame!! It looks like we got BLACK keys though

The MBP has FW800 and PCI-E as far as I can see.

A lack of FW400 seems an omission though.

Not long to wait and see :)

But the slot is up at the keyboard area right? Not down there? I closed that window i had the pictures open in so i need to go look again.

I want the dock to be what "wins" LOL!!! (although, if it is the dock, i want that to be the round port - because i'd like for the kids to have this option (you know, when i win lotto).

Oh well, one more day.... and i'm resigned to NOT getting my $500~ option from Apple which means i'll have to revisit something else for DD's birthday.

Looking closely, I think that is just a ridge - there is a slight shadow on the right hand side of it near the bar at the top. I'm thinking it has something to do with that little screwed on thing in the bottom right - same location as the odd port on the larger case... Maybe an option that comes standard on the larger model?? Graphics card... I can't thing of anything else...

Any other ideas?
