I own the Apple desktop chicklet keyboard... Had to try it out.

Then I loaned it around to over two dozen people at work and they could only stand using it for 1 hour at most.

It's a really sad keyboard.

I own the wired version-the cord is prone to being easily damaged.

Will the Macbook get a Multi-touch trackpad?

okay i lied, one more. Your post really reminds me of when apple was about more than processor speed and the amount of ram, etc. We loved them because they DID push better or newer technology, like firewire, i remember when i could synch my ipod with Firewire and a bunch of my PC friends couldnt, they'd always ask how i'd sync so fast. lol

ok, but these days you can't sync your iPod using Firewire anymore.. You have to use USB 2.0

hey hey boys and girls guess what Nile just found on machome.com.cn

"MBP Boatbuilding on the left side of the picture, you can not see that the interface 1394A"

this was posted (after being translated with google) above the picture that shows the "Pro" ports

Pretty much a confirmation then, although details are skeptical about the back. I'm hoping its a fully aluminum design, going half and half doesn't seem very apple-like.

Either way, multi touch trackpads and nvidia chips in the macbooks is amazing! I'm just anxious to see what the specs are like, I'm predicting a large boost in the MBPs other specs, and a small bump in the macbooks.:apple:

ok, but it's still Chinese for me.. explain?

PICTURES ARE STOLEN FROM HERE!!!

http://www.machome.com.cn/viewthrea...ilter=0&orderby=dateline&ascdesc=DESC

the new mb, mbp and mba will be:
1 plastic 13.3' MB(original MB case)
2 aluminum 13.3'MB
3 aluminum15.4'MB
4 aluminum17.1'MB
5 aluminum Macbook Air(C case changed)

If that is true, then would they expect all Pro users to purchase a Mac Pro? I know quite a few people who require power and portability. The Pro is awesome, but it's definitely not "nimble".
I'd love a 15.4 in Alu MB, but that seems like they'd be cutting a large chunk of the market.

thinking 'bout:
3,04GhZ
Standard 4GB Ram - upgrade to 8GB
1GB Vram
300GB 7200RPM HD
?

which in my opinion is really lame. you can't even charge through firewire on the new iPods; which is even more lame. Though I still haven't upgraded from my 3G iPod from over 5 years ago; it syncs through fw and I love it.

sorry, the larger ones should be MBP, my fault

I noticed the same. I wonder though, on my current MacBook the second-lowest row of keys, the one with the Shift buttons, has 11 standard-sized keys, while the new MB and MBP only have 10 of them - so I wonder which key is missing. I supposed it's the left one, the one with the two arrows < and > - but where did it go?

Doesn't have to be an American key layout. I have a Japanese one, which has more keys in one place and less in another. So this could well be a Chinese one or whatever.

Seems quite straightforward to me, look at the symbols near the connectors.

The display port is obviously a MICRO-dvi connector as seen on the Macbook AIR, so not a MINI-DVI like in current macbook, you will need to buy a new adapter.

The first port is a mag-safe power connector (look at the symbol), rather than a fw800 port... so - assuming the taped port on the MBP15 case is a dual FW and not an e-sata - the MB13 would lack a firewire port, this will disappoint a lot of audio pros, sound engineer, musician, etc.

The mistery hole either is the IR port, or a new magsafe power adapter, this would change all my firewire speculations, but I don't believe that.

well on the right side of the estimated MBP there are no usb at all...

so I think that till now we have not seen yet a Macbook Pro case....:p

RoDe is right!

no! the MacBook Pro case pictured is exactly the same as the current (in terms of ports, not port layout) except its got one less Firewire port and a mini-DVI (supposedly) port. so its definitely the MBP!

what im thinking is Apple will drop the "Pro" name and just have a 13", 15" and 17" MacBook and then different specs for each size along with the MacBook Air. the MacBook Air will then become like the MacBook. this will justify the $800 price point and will narrow the price gap between the current MacBook Pro and MacBook because of the all aluminium design.

you are getting confused between the pictures. the Magsafe port has been cut off in the MacBook Pro picture (second image) and is a lot skinner as shown on the MacBook case picture (first image)… so there is an extra port in addition to Ethernet and Magsafe which im guessing from the square shape is Firewire.

MBP right? :p
yeah its a possibility, probably the next upgrade after this one more likley. I don't know if intel have 3ghz+ laptop chips just yet, and if they do they'll only be in the high end model. Maybe 2.6 base 2.8 higher, then on the macbook 2.3 base and 2.5 higher.

Has anyone else had the thought that neither of these two pictures could show the MacBook? Maybe there's a slightly smaller Pro in the offing. Or even vice-versa, there could be a bigger standard MacBook.

However, on the subject of ports... what are the two that I've circled on the picture below? One of them looks the sort of size and shape of a HDMI port to me.
