What do you think the chances are then of Macbooks being updated, and MBPs not?

that would make for even LESS differences, think about it, the macbooks will probably be updated to 2.5 GHZ and the current mbp's are 2.5GHZ- they have to update more, plus the invitation reads "Notebooks" "s" implying multiple lines...

but there's no firewire on the Macbook ? Only the Maccrook Pro ? Yay for having to spend an extra $1000 for a feature that a $50 laptop would have. Apple are a bunch of crooks. Or they want everyone to buy their special apple converters for $250 a pop or something ?

They have to distinguish the MB and MBP some how, and you know what Apple are like.

Apple giveth, and Apple taketh away.

I think the laptops are going to be tapered when they add the metal plate at the bottom. Just like the Macbook Air, the vertical edge around the whole computer is uniform but the metal plate that makes the bottom of the computer is what gives it its tapered shape. The similar is going to happen to the Macbook Pros and Macbooks by adding a plate either metal or plastic, although they are going to be less tapered. The Pro might get a metal baseplate, while the regular Macbook might get a polycarbonate bottom shell for better wireless reception.

Apple won't make their computers like a rectangle again. Just look at the iMac, iPhone, iPod touch, and Air and you can see they are moving towards a new design direction for this generation's computers.

+1

`~

Isn't there missing a key on the second row from the bottom? With the wide left shift key there is only room for 12 keys on this row, while on my MBP there are 13 keys. So which key has been removed? "`~"?

do you think they'll change the shape/size of the magsafe to somehow make it more functional... i mean its already extremely functional, but they've updated their power connector every genneration, i dont see any reason to stop now. nothings perfect, right?

and whats with all this "+1" ****? i dont see the point.

call again mate!

When I chek the apple macbookpro site, I count 12 on the seconds row from the bottom

lol, but on my macbook I'm counting 13 as well... :)
maybe the difference between AZERTY and QWERTY
it's stays 79 buttons in total

Had a better look.

The small one has no ethernet port? It does have some strange new type of FW port in front of the two USB.

New adapter from apple?

The front port on the side of the larger machine is curious.

Dunno about Pandas but those shots are what I'm expecting:

i would put a .1% chance that those are real. they dont fit the leaked casings at all, and are way too ugly. just looks like a photoshopped MBP.

I think apple stays with their macsafe's

Guys

What's a "chicklet key"?

Sorry if it seams like a dump question; never heard it before.

they're the square, seperated keys seen on the macbook and macbook air, as well as apples current keyboard line, look at that compared to the macbook pro keyboard and you'll see a big difference. Some people love them, some people hate them, but i'm typing on the bluetooth chicklets i bought tonight and i'm loving it ;)

But you're also from Belgium, the American keyboards are set up exactly like the ones shown in the pics, just confirmed myself on my macbook, macbook pics on apple.com and MBP pics on apple.com

Well they had my money, but lost it. You can buy a pack of bubblegum these days and it will feature a firewire connection. Purposely leaving out a basic feature that every other single laptop in the world has just to try to rape people out of an extra $1000. Sorry Mac Nazis, I will not buy your Maccrook Hoe for an extra $1000. Their $4000 Maccrooks Hoes blew up last time. Here's to them getting sued forever and their new laptops blowing up again. Oh well, they had a great design on their last Maccrook Casing. Only 99.9% of them broke. Pure Genius .

On the Chicklet iMac keyboard I'm using, the key count matches with 12.
[Shift] + [zxcvbnnm,./] + [Shift]

OK now I'm sure the big one isn't an mbp. It's a 15" MacBook. All the ports om the left side make no sense on an mbp.

I think you're dreaming. That has to be a MacBook not a Pro. The MacBook will NOT have ExpressCard expansion. Looks like Apple sold out..again!!!

No Firewire on Macbook and no eSATA or DisplayPort on either machine.

well on the right side of the estimated MBP there are no usb at all...

so I think that till now we have not seen yet a Macbook Pro case....:p

RoDe is right!

Is it possible the port that's covered up on the towards the front of the "Pro" is eSATA?
