Maybe they are rolling out the fix in some sort of sequence or waves? For reference, my timers in the corner of each thumbnail are working again too.

One more thing, I didn't do anything for this to start working again, it just did.
Has anything ever been broken or fixed before without an actual update though? This just came out of the blue and apparently it was fixed for you out of the blue too. That’s what makes me think this is just a bogged down server of sorts and will return once it clears up.

Mine is only happening on the Mac (MacBook Pro 16" M1). The iPhones, iPads, etc all work as expected. I noticed mine started to act up after the 12.1 update last week. All five cameras show "now" but do not update. When I go into them, they work fine. But when I go back to the home screen, its right back to where the same preview was and showing "now".

Same issue here , 13 Pro.

I have also been receiving lots of false person motion detection in my activity zone since the release of 15.2 ,

Vehicle's outside my motion detection zone are detected as Person Motion Detected even tho i don't have vehicle detection switched on.

The clips all display a vehicle passing with no person in site.

Glad I found this thread. Noticed the issue a few days ago, right after playing around with my UniFi network equipment and changing some settings. Thinking I crashed it I went through all troubleshooting steps to the extent of completely re-establishing my home network, did all the Apple-things like signing out of iCloud, removing home app, removing and re-adding cameras etc. Nothing helped of course, so sitting here and waiting for the Apple servers to recover.

I deleted all my cameras and re-added them. It worked for 24 hours. Now the issue persists again.
I wanted to go that route but removing the doorbell camera from my Home app will delete all the videos in iCloud, so I'm stuck waiting for Apple to fix this bug.

13 Pro.
I have 4 cameras set as favorites on my MacBook Air M1. None of the preview thumbnails are updating, they are showing images from a day ago. This was working perfectly prior to the 12.1 update. The same favorites are updating normally on my iPad Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max.

I restarted the app and computer multiple times. I also un-favorited the cameras and re-favorited them, that didn't work.

Any ideas?

Thank you
13 Pro having the same issue

I am running an iPhone 13 Pro Max. My wife‘s phone is an iPhone 12 Pro. Currently hers is working and mine is not. But previously her phone was experiencing the same problem. We shall see if hers craps out too.

If you have the HomePod Mini, switch it OFF and use the Apple TV (or something else!).

In my experience, the HomePod Mini screws up my Home Hub particularly the camera snapshots and Eve Sensors automations, my fix it to switch off the HomePod mini and restart the Apple TV

I have been experiencing the same issue on my iPhone 12 running iOS 15.2 for days now. However my wife's iPad and iPhone 11 running 15.2 are updating thumbnails normally. I have tried completely rebooting my network and hard-restarting all of my iPads and Apple TV's. I'm not yet willing to go through the hassle of deleting and re-adding all of my HomeKit Secure Video cameras (four Logi Circle 2 cameras, and a Logitech Video Doorbell). Hoping for Apple to eventually fix and save me that hassle.

Mine is running off the ATV and not my Mini.

This is gonna end up being the same as the rich image HomeKit camera notifications on the Apple Watch like last year. They disappeared some time during iOS 14 and magically reappeared with iOS 15. Apple software is a complete joke. Can never sustain a useful feature. They always gotta break something in the background.

I used to have the same issue and recently the same issue is back again on my iPhone 15.2, while it is totally working fine on my other iOS devices.

For those who are not heavy user of Apple Wallet I‘d suggest to perform the below:-

1. Logout my iCloud account via Settings > [Your Name] > Sign Out
2. Ensure Home app is completely off
3. Reboot
4. Sign In again with same Apple ID
5. Launch Home app

P.S. Signing out / in Apple ID require to re-authenticate your payment cards. (I don’t wanna do that so I am googling and found this thread. :)

I've been chatting via DM on Twitter with Apple Support

They are in complete denial of the issue. If more users tweet about the problem we will hopefully have a resolution soon.

I’m convinced Apple Support employees love their Alexa and Google smart homes lol.

Unbelievable!

Same problem here. Also is anyone having issues restoring purchases? Something seems borked at Apple lately
