I’m only afraid on doing these cause it will delete all the stored videos and stored recognition.
From what I understand the way this works, the videos and face recognition (anything to do with HKSV) is supposed to be processed on the home hub and stored in your iCloud, not the camera so it should not delete and erase everything. I did the reset over 10 days ago so I couldn’t tell because videos only get stored for 10 days anyway.

You could always save whatever recordings you really need indefinitely to your iPhone camera roll.

As for facial recognition, I have more cameras that weren’t reset so I couldn’t tell you if they aren’t picking up the slack for the cameras that were reset. Once gain, this is processed on the home hub and supposed to be stored in iCloud and technically should not affect it. I would do one camera at a time and see what the behavior is.

That's what my understanding is as well, but my only concern is I only have one camera (Logitech Circle View doorbell) so I'm afraid removing it might trigger iCloud to delete the videos out or something, cause it does warn me right before I remove it. I think at this point I'll just wait for their next software release and hope it gets fixed, cause the doorbell camera still works just fine... it's just the preview is still locked to an image from last month (which is now last year lol).

iOS 15.3 RC was just released so it shouldn’t be that long before the final public release and there a reports of 15.3 fixing this. I’m in the middle of switching out my whole Wi-Fi network so I wouldn’t have much of a choice anyway lol.

I still too have a bunch of cameras with thumbnails from last year lol. Very annoying. There was no update or anything when it happened. My guess is something server side locked up when everyone opened up and set up their shiny new Apple devices over the holidays. That’s around the time it occurred.

Can confirm iOS15.3 RC fixes this issue. Just installed specifically for this reason and then deleted the beta profile.

iOS 15.3 and macOS 12.2 completely fixed the issue for me as well. However the refresh time on the thumbnails is now one minute as opposed to the 10 seconds it used to be. I preferred the shorter duration but if this is what it takes for it to be fixed I can live with it. Are other also seeing one minute refreshes?

10 seconds for me as it’s always been when on home Wi-Fi. It’s a minute when I’m remotely on cellular.

Thank you, that's what it was. I checked when I was away from home earlier today and it was a minute. Now at home it's back to 10 seconds. Seems to be a solid fix from Apple. Camera loads seem snappier too.
