I hate how theres no internal battery. Stuff like this is why i hate apple sometimes. Woulda been an automatic buy if it was portable
I'm considering one or more as stationary only; however, I could imagine a great accessory for those who want portability that is a hockey puck platform with a battery and cable management for wrapping the cord on the outside. If this is what your'e looking for, you might encourage some of the accessor makers to do this...

I see what you're going for... but Sonos Move is $400 regular price, it's not even a remote comparison.
The question posed, though, was, are there any good (sound-wise), portable, smart speakers. That fits the bill to a T. Price didn’t enter into the equation.

I don’t have a Move, and am unlikely to buy one (I’m getting a HomePod Mini, actually) but I’ve heard people who have the Move and are really happy with them.

Now here is the funny part:
Things that meet regs in Australia also meet regs in New Zealand, in fact most of our regs for electrical/electronics are AU/NZ regs. So they are compliant in NZ.

Our plugs and power supply are identical.
Sorry, they haven’t nailed the accent yet,

Finally got my Mini's today. Figured I'd share a few things (sorry if others have covered some of these):

- If you were looking to get a Mini because you found the regular HomePod too bassy, this is the perfect solution for you! My stereo pair sounds incredible for my use case: small apartment living, looking to play music or TV late at night, and I found the OG HomePod's Bass was too powerful even at low volumes which wakes the neighbors. There's a noticeable bass reduction that's similar to playing music from the OG HomePod using the "Bass Reducer" EQ setting in the Music app.

- You'll likely need to update your HomePod Mini immediately out of the box.

- While the 20W charger that is included has a couple of USB-PD power profiles, the HomePod Mini explicitly requires the 9v - 2.22a profile for input in order to even boot. I plugged a HomePod Mini into an 18wPD Anker charger just to see if it would boot, and the Mini's screen immediately turned a bright orange, signaling incorrect power. Should anyone be looking to plug it into a laptop or a battery pack, just keep in mind that your device must meet this PD power profile.

- You cannot set a stereo pair of mini's as the default audio output for an AppleTV

Let me know if there's anything anybody wants to test out.
