Agreed. I got my HomePod pair for $200usd each and I think they have incredible value for the price, even more so with the recent home theater features.Missed chance.
Apple should of sold them in pairs for $399, and marketed them as high fidelity home theater.
I have a pair connected to my ATV and these things are amazing.
(New ATVs also let you use them as the audio return channel for your TV.)
Price didn’t kill it. Apple killed it. I’ve paid more that $600 before on speakers and these were well worth the price. What exactly is Siri’s stupidness? Everyone on planet earth knows Siri is the 3rd ranked assistant and I could care less. I don’t ask Siri silly stupid asinine questions. Everything I ask Siri has been within reasonable expectations and 98% of the time I’ll get the answer I wanted. I don’t have to worry about being spied on like Alexa when looking at the wife’s smart speaker and it is recording up a storm until you tell it to stop.sad. homepod itself wasn’t a bad product. the price is what killed it… also siri’s stupidness.
Agreed. The bass is pretty decent — probably not as good compared to dedicated subwoofer, but the HomePod stereo pair does a pretty good job of finding a good balance.yes, having two is awesome. i cant even put it on the highest volume, cuz it's so strong. if you can find the second one at B&H, or Best Buy, do it!
It’s been like that for at least a year now. I remember shortly before the Mini launched that going to the page on the HomePod and seeing the browser tab list it as HomePod (2018) way back last summer.I’m pretty sure we’re going to see a new HomePod… if you go to the Apple website and search for HomePod, the “current”/discontinued model is labeled as HomePod 2018. Why differentiate like that if a new model isn’t imminent?
Thanks for the tip. I just found one on eBay for a bit over $200. Looking for the second one now!yes, having two is awesome. i cant even put it on the highest volume, cuz it's so strong. if you can find the second one at B&H, or Best Buy, do it!
This is a big appeal to me. I don’t like having a giant sound bar, giant subwoofer, and giant box for the rear speakers. Having just two speakers (with woofers) that work with the new Apple TV 4K over ARC would be ideal.Agreed. The bass is pretty decent — probably not as good compared to dedicated subwoofer, but the HomePod stereo pair does a pretty good job of finding a good balance.
It's a really good tradeoff if you want to simplify your TV sound setup, which I did. I had the HomePod pair anyway and wound up ditching my TV sound bar and woofer.
I can. Hans Zimmer going ham on the pipe organ in Interstellar or Dogfights in Star Wars (deep "space" sounds) sound incredible. It's easy to shake the house with them.I was thinking about getting a stereo pair of HomePods to use for Apple TV / ARC audio. From what I’ve read the bass is pretty solid. Can anyone comment on this?
sad. homepod itself wasn’t a bad product. the price is what killed it… also siri’s stupidness.
Alexa w/ speaker integration > Siri w/ HomePod or *insert any Apple Product* integration.
