HomePod failures are common >2yrs old. Not a new thing. That may explain the 14.6 failures.
It reminds me the story of TimeCapsule
I bought one from Apple about 2 months ago. After owning it for about 40 days, I upgraded it to 14.6. It bricked it and gave it the red pulsing volume buttons and was unresponsive. I took it to Apple and they told me it would be $270 to repair it. So it became trash in less than 2 months.
Glad this goes mainstream now. Apple software turned into a big mess in the last 10 years and no one really points that out.
So your warranty expired in less than 2 months? Suuuure.
Got lucky(So far). Been using the same TimeCap since 2011! Through many a storm and power outage . Of course, also have other backup media such as CCC.Fried TimeCapsules were a complete disaster for Apple. The thread on the Apple forums was legendary. I still believe Apple redesigned their forums to the new format specifically to hide threads like that.
Mine are more than 2 years old. Not arguing but where is your data?HomePod failures are common >2yrs old. Not a new thing. That may explain the 14.6 failures.
Dude try and keep up. I already explained this above as that is what Apple told me at my local store. I'm going to take it back in and make them fix it for free.
I’m showing my age here, but this is reminiscent of the Apple subwoofer. It worked great, wonderful sound until … Apple upgraded the OS but didn’t upgrade the subwoofer software. Their response was, “Too bad.” That is the future of the HomePod.
I dont believe you for one second. Apple surely knows their own warranties. I've had service many times at Apple and they run the serial numbers right away to establish warranty status. Your story reeks of being made up.
Yes, 'Inquiring minds' want to know! Something to do with this plastic/see through speakers of long ago? That plastic large 'de-pitted olive' shaped thing? What is an Apple Subwoofer? Google searches turn up nothing on this product.

This is what I inferred from the HomePod subreddit. Got mine replaced at the one year Mark for explicitly this reason.Mine are more than 2 years old. Not arguing but where is your data?
Enjoy them while they last. Since they're locked into Apples BS ecosystem, and they have no aux or bluetooth input, be ready for the day when they're moderately decent sounding paperweights. For the record I have 2 full-sized HomePods bought 6 months separate from each other but both over a year ago. Been nothing but great -- but I did not set them as stereo pair and I do not tie them to my appletv (Sonos beam does that). I do have a HomePod mini for a couple months now and so far for me it's basically useless for c conference calls but fine as a mono speaker on my desk.....
how on earth is expressing my option that he's a dork INFRINGING ON SOMEONE ELSE? If you can explain that to me, then you get a gold star for the day.Which is rude, cruel, and disrespectful.
Calling out other people improper behavior is not only OK, I believe is necessary, particularly in the current times that we live in.
And no, in doing so he is not contradicting his way of thinking, because the 'dont judge what makes people happy' philosophy has one caveat : "as long as it isn’t infringing on someone else", which is exactly what your attitude is doing.
And those 19 homepods were for his whole family, wife, children and so on.
Excuse my English.
don’t give up with it! You got the right for replacement if firmware wasn‘t beta. Apple should always take responsibility for their mistakes.I bought one from Apple about 2 months ago. Knew that when I bought them -- not some revelation.Enjoy them while they last. Since they're locked into Apples BS ecosystem, and they have no aux or bluetooth input, be ready for the day when they're moderately decent sounding paperweights.
Aww, so sensitive.infringing on that person... by calling him a dork, of course, which is not a nice thing to say. My point is, having fun by judging other people, calling them things or insulting them is not ok.
how many kids (I see you have at least one)? How many pairs of jeans? What is the acceptable number of pets in the house? Since I'm single may I have more than four dinner plates or is that dorky? How often do you douche? you seem to think we get to judge anyone for anything... how many cars do you have? What is your debt ratio? Do you have an education? Do you have a job? Are you aware your profile name is searchable? Do you have any clue how creepy it is to judge people living their lives?Aww, so sensitive.
Here’s a fact: Sometimes people do stuff that is stupid, evil, silly, funny, tragic, horrifying ... in your world are we NEVER allowed to point it out. Are we all just supposed to be lobotomized stepford wives who just nicely nod to all the stupid stuff we see people do and say?
Sorry if you find me expressing my option of him as “not ok”. That’s how you live your life. But in my life not calling someone out for doing something dumb is “not ok”.
So I guess we’re at a standoff here lol
Here’s the thing: You’re the one telling me I don’t have grounds to express myself. I’m not telling you to not express yourself, but you’re suggesting somehow my expresssion should be censored.
Am I right?
The HomePod was a moronic ‘locked in the apple ecosystem’ product like no other from the start. So you knew that, and bought a couple anyway. No secret why apple keeps making money hand over fist with these kind of discriminating customers!Knew that when I bought them -- not some revelation.
I don't need your empathy or disdain.
Been in this business for over 30 years, I've thrown away more technology than most people would ever own. It's a zero sum game.
I'm far more upset about not being able to moderately update my 2013MP. Want to talk **** about that too?
Yes sorry, but my point is I’m allowed to stay, and offer my ‘opinion’. You don’t like opinions? I’m sure you have plenty of them! Just the fact that you don’t like this one opinion of mine doesn’t mean I should ‘go away’.how many kids (I see you have at least one)? How many pairs of jeans? What is the acceptable number of pets in the house? Since I'm single may I have more than four dinner plates or is that dorky? GO AWAY
I have no complaints with them. That is what is lost on you.The HomePod was a moronic ‘locked in the apple ecosystem’ product like no other from the start. So you knew that, and bought a couple anyway. No secret why apple keeps making money hand over fist with these kind of discriminating customers!
