JAX, I would try all the local Best Buys or if you're close to an Apple store try there as well.

I'll probably stop by a few on the way home, who knows I may get lucky. But highly doubtful. :(

Called up Galleria, still being a bunch of bastards. Asked what time they're opening... "10:00AM" asked when they expect a shipment... "don't know"

Called Sugarland First Colony, they're opening 09:00, "hoping for a shipment, because we didn't get any today".

The Galleria is the worst location, terrible attitude there as usual. They waited for a line of 50+ this morning to tell everyone there's no iPad shipment, poor people in front.

I imagine anyone who wants an iPad at this point should really consider going to best buy and putting down the deposit and have them call you when they receive shipments.

I went to the galleria location cause I figure that best buy would receive more ipad stock than the best buy off of 99 and west park tollway.

I'll let you all know when they call me!

I tried a Target location and called a few Best Buy stores -- of course no iPads were available. Finally had enough of the cat and mouse and went to BB in Meyerland and put down my deposit. They said there were about 40 people total in front of me, mostly for 16gb versions. I'm hoping my 32 gb comes in rather soon, but who knows. Surely it will be sooner than the 4 to 5 weeks from apple.com?

Remember, if you put your name on the BB list you're buying a gift card. Should you see an iPad at another location or an Apple store or wherever, you can buy that one and get your BB deposit back. I'm going to keep my eyes open and jump on one if I see it, but I don't have time to camp at these stores all week waiting for a box that may or may not arrive.

I was told that BBuy would not refund the gift card. If you don't apply it toward the iPad purchase, you'd have to get something else, but no cash refund. This was at the Hwy 6/Westheimer store as well as the one in Katy.

I was told I can return the gift card at the Galleria Best Buy if I change my mind.

Best Buy will not sell any iPads to the general public until all their deposits have been fulfilled. Believe me I tried yesterday...and yes, they had stock but it was stock that was being held for people who placed deposits.

I didn't even want to deal with the cat and mouse or the lines.

BB Galleria couldnt tell me how many people were ahead of me. The sales rep said he honestly didn't know.

ATX, update us on your iPad status once they call you.

FWIF, First Colony Apple Store says they'll have more starting at 9 AM tomorrow. Good luck to all!

Exactly when did they tell you this?

I overheard the sales associate tell another customer. I was merely in for my mom, getting her an iPhone 4. Take it with a grain of salt, please don't rant at me if it's not true. I simply am trying to help as many people as possible.

I placed my preorder for a 64gb black iPad at Meyerland Saturday morning (4th in line, 1st 64gb) and still no call. :(

Memorial City

Stopped by memorial city first and they had a line of a out 40-50 and seemed to have enough on hand for those already there and were handing out tickets. BUT...only 1 64 AT&T, and a bunch of 16 wifi and assorted verizon models. Now trying first colony. We'll see what they have...

Thank you

First Colony hasn't reported how much the got to their line. I just got here and I'm guessing I'm number 45 or so.

Just got a white 64gb wifi from target (willowbrook) using that inventory checker in the target thread. Electronics guy said this is the only one that came in and that he wasn't even expecting any to come in at all. No line whatsoever, literally in there for 5 minutes.

Congrats, still no luck for me. Any updates on the search for iPad 2s in Houston today?

First Colony now reporting not enough stock for all 60 or so people in line.

Where I'm at, I'll have to get lucky.

All 16 and 32s wifi only. VZ models available, no AT&T.

Do you have a link to the inventory checker?

I got mine from UH bookstore today which involved a lot of luck and some help from a friend who tipped me off that they got one in. I showed up at 9 am as they first opened and snagged it. 16GB white. FINALLY!

Good luck to everybody still looking.

any updates on Galleria Apple Store?

Line of 60+ and after the first dozen people, they announced only vz models left then everyone scattered away. They really should allow a limit of one per person until stock is stable.

I ordered a white AT&T 32GB 3G online the day of launch around 4am (central), with "Not Yet Shipped" still as its status. So, I put in a reservation at the Woodlands Best Buy yesterday afternoon to see which I will get faster. Question: Why are people shying away from the Verizon 3Gs? I contemplated getting one, but wonder why people do not want them... Thoughts?

BTW, Woodlands Apple store also said they had not gotten any since launch day. Hoped to get more on Tuesday, but didn't. They were expecting some today. But, then again, who knows!
