I wonder what is the deal with the ATT 64gb iPad models not being refreshed here? Very frustrating. I'll be in NYC next week for a few days so I'll try up there and see if I'm lucky enough to get the ATT 64GB model.

Houston, TX - iPad 2 Sightings/Information

Just stopped by The Galleria while going out to lunch....
.....never have I seen the Genius' so frazzeled. Looks like they are really tired of answereing the same questions from people hour after hour day after day.
Overheard one of them stating that they get deliveries six days a week but don't know what's on the truck tilll they open the boxes.
Since this is probably the case all over I'd just say for everyone to go about their daily lives and wait a month until there are plenty.
I made it to the age of 38 without having an ipad and I think I can live a little while longer without one. Heck, I may wait until the ipad3 comes out!

Sam's Club - WiFi Only
Found 32GB Black and White and 64GB White WiFi only iPad 2's at the Sam's Club in Shenandoah, just North of the Woodlands on I-45. I really wants a 16, but settled for the 32 due to low stock everywhere else.

At first I didn't know that Sam even carried iPads. But thanks for clearing that up. Wish I can walk in without a card and buy it. Since I will be buying at retail price anyways.
Finally received shipping confirmation on 32GB ATT White 3G iPad ordered at 4am central time on Friday, March 11, via the Apple site. Tracking says it will arrive March 23.
Meanwhile, I have a deposit down at Best Buy (The Woodlands) for a 32GB ATT Black 3G. We'll see which comes in first. The guy at BB told me I would probably score on their second shipment this week. This was Tues, March 15. So, maybe today, tomorrow, or Saturday?

I mean, Sams often allows you to buy one item without a card as a "promotional offer". Or at least they used to. I'm not sure how or if they even still do that anymore though..

Ask the person at the door for a guest pass. They used to give out a one day type pass.
I understand why resellers do this -- especially to foreign markets -- but it's absurd when it's taken to these kind of levels. Had Apple allowed us to order online prior to launch early adopters wouldn't have been so screwed.
As for the Geniuses, I'm sure they're ready to go crazy. They don't have anymore information that we do it seems. I'd go crazy answering the same question 100 times/day too.
The fine print on those day passes says you have to pay a 10% charge if you make a purchase.
I was able to find a coworker that had a membership card so I rushed over to the Woodlands Sam's store. Seems like they had a bunch of them available. They hide them in the back, and you're supposed to pick up a card and take it to the front to get one. Unfortunately I didn't see any iPad 2's in the set of cards on display - but I went to the Membership Services desk and they were able to find the exact model I wanted (32GB Black Wifi) and brought it out from the back. The lady said they had just received a shipment today. Purchased it with cash and was out the door in about 10 minutes total. Rang up as $588... so I even saved $11!

Ugh...I am in the downtown area. I went to the Sam's on 610 and Fannin. The worker that I talked to didn't even know what an iPad was. I asked the desk and they haven't received any.

For what it's worth - the lady said they had received some on Saturday (the 12th) and then again today.
It's okay. A new day arrives tomorrow. Not sure what my game plan is though. So for those of you who went to the Apple store, how did things go? Did you manage to get what you were looking for?

I called Sam's at the Woodland location around 6 and the lady told me that they only have one black 64 gb wifi only left.
Call them tomorrow morn if you're interested to see if they still have it

I'm going to attempt going to the Apple store tomorrow morning and try my luck before I go into work. I'm going to keep my fingers crossed.Managed to get a 16GB VZ White from First Colony on Wednesday morning. I was about number fifty five in line. Really just wanted the wifi only, but settled for VZ, just won't be using the data much.
Good morning everyone. I heard from a few of my friends that galleria and most other apple stores in the Houston area will be receiving shipments in this morning! Sounds very hopeful because not only have I heard this from one person but all 4 people have told me the exact same. I will be heading out to apple memorial and try to get one. I'm currently 8th out of 11 or so in line at The Woodlands Apple Store. I say "or so" because there are 4 people who I think are related but in different places in line, so I don't know how many they are buying.
