Houston, TX - iPad 2 Sightings/Information

J-A-X, negative, couldn't find a place that had any in stock but I'm hearing a lot of things about certain Apple retail stores opening up early tomorrow specifically for iPad 2 sales. But as of right now I can't get through to any of the stores to confirm that.
 
No luck finding a single iPad 2 in Houston today, despite numerous calls and repeated efforts.

Will be showing up at First Colony around 08:30 hopefully they'll open early/have a shipment.

At the very least I'll just derp around the mall. :apple:
 
Cool, if you guys could post here tomorrow if you hear anything that would be great. I can't go into an Apple store until tomorrow after 4 pm (and driving to the Galleria from Rice at rush hour sounds awful) so hopefully if they do get stock there will still be a few left at the end of the day.
 
Called Best Buy willowbrook on my way home from work. The lady (Sara) said she only had 64gb black 3G ATT model left. I said ok, then she said "is that a yes?" so I told her my name and said I'd be there in 15min.

Shame they didn't have 32gb wifi only black.. They may have more I didn't ask though.

Do they give a student discount on iPads? Husband is a student there and now he wants one.
 
Walmart on Grand Pkwy has 32GB WiFi only model. Said they had a 'few'. That was as of 4pm on Monday. Its a relatively new store so they didn't get any on launch day but received a 'few' today. The clerk said only the 32GB WiFi model. Too bad I need the 64GB AT&T so didn't do me any good.
 
So whose going to try one of these Apple stores early and try there luck? So far no confirmation on a 9am opening at any of these locations. Sigh.

Just advised no iPads in stock or coming in today at the woodlands apple store

here at galleria mall... there's like 15 people in line...just told "right now we have zero, but that could change any minute"

Just left the Walmart on Grand Pkwy and they have 1 32gb wifi only.

That's what I want! Too bad it's so damn far away. :( We need more iPads inside the loop! I tried calling UH computer store but nobody answered. I am guessing the chances aren't too high that they have one left.
 
I went to the best buy galleria location yesterday and put a $100 down on a white 16gb model.

The reps there told me they are receiving random shipment of ipads each day. They got 5 yesterday and were notifying the people who deposited a 100 before me.

I'm hoping to maybe get mine before this weeks end.

I didn't even know you could do this? Has Apple always had this policy? My impression was first come first served.

I'm guessing about 30 in line at Galleria. Haven't been here long.
