3rd time lucky here!

My initial one had yellowing towards bottom of the screen. Apple sent me an advanced replacement which was worse in other departments such as bad backlight bleed and badly scuffed aluminium around apple logo on front!
I was going to keep the original one. But thought I would give it one more try.
They sent me another advanced replacement. So I had 3 iMacs in the house. One was picked up today.
The latest one is absolutely perfect. No yellowing. No backlight bleed whatsoever
And no marks anywhere!

So to all those hoping for the perfect one. Just keep trying.they are out there!
And I must say the service from apple has been second to none. I can now relax and finally enjoy my purchase!!:)

Is that on a 27 inch imac?
 
I called Apple yesterday to have my iMac replaced due to the high pitched PSU noise.

My current 27" noisy 2012 iMac is good in every other aspect, so I am a bit worried that the new one will suffer from anything else... :/

At leat they will send me the new one before I return the one I have so I can compare them. I will let you know how it is as soon as it arrives.

From what I can see in normal lighting under conditions that I will use my imac, I can see no backlight bleed!
I'm not going to go to the extent that some people do on here to find it!!
I'm very happy with my replacement and I'm not going to search for any further problems!! (My main concern was the yellow screen problem).
 
21.5 inch base model!

See the 21.5 inch is faster to get the 27 inch takes longer. You know it wouldn't be a problem if the replacements were coming on a timely basis but us waiting for 27 inch ones were stock with waits 2-4 weeks so its not as easy to get the replacements, it's just adds to the frustrations.

Well I sincerely hope you get sorted and eventually get a 27" you are happy with!;)
 
just a quick update, im suppose to get a replacement, and i just talked to my rep.. supplies are on back order according to the info shes getting so... there you.. apple is really behind on this crap its pissing me off, im this would be my third imac if it this new one coming in also has problems idk what will do but something bad its gonna happen,.... FRAK!!!!!!

don't overworry.. apple's good about these types of things.. just enjoy the imac you have at the moment and it'll all get sorted out over time..
 
What the hell? Here in Canada I had to send my original back before they will send a new one. I got to enjoy my iMac for 2 days, then boxed it up to send back....but they had a delay in sending me shipping labels, so I only was able to.send it out yesterday....no eta on the replacement. Not thrilled

I know I'm just going a little crazy here, it's just I wish I'd get what pay for and just move on I really really hate feeling this way it really sucks, I just graduated college and I want to get back doing my video work it's like my outlet and not being able to what i love to do properly makes me feel like crap. That and I also want to start putting my website together so I can go apply for jobs and just generally get work done. With all these replacements coming and going i feel like I'm in limbo because I don't know If should put set up how I want because the machine I currently have its gonna go eventually, as you can see its more to me than just a computer maybe I'm a little too crazy over it but I know this kinda crap isn't what I paid for.

Ed- definitely if you have to take back 2-3 times i'd do it we pay a good dollar and should get a quality product. If anymore than that it's probably just a warm display type of thing though as far as yellow screens.

got the first one on dec 14 and put the order for a replacement on dec 17. called apple after 2 week of waiting. So they told me that I have waited long enough for the replacement (rep told me that 2 weeks of waiting isn't usual, also for the high requested 27 iMac) and they shipped the new one on the same day on dec 31

wow very interesting... its going to be two weeks at the end of this week for me since i placed the new order if i dont see any changes by then i will certainly give my rep a call. what was wrong with your first one? Thanks for the info btw

I had some defective pixels on the first one. Never had it before and there were in the middle of the screen, very annoying.

I would also recommend to call your rep. I have to say that I called within the 2 weeks of waiting several times to arrange the return of the old one. I also asked them about an expected delivery for the new one and they didn't know anything. But the last rep had a better overview over the whole process and internal rules I think...so he arranged the same day shipping :)

yeah my rep is suppose to be one of the supervisor, shes been extremely nice.. however i dont think she has like the "power" (i guess) to just order to have it ship right away because i according to her she can see if they are making it but she does not know or can push to have it done quicker i guess idk ill definately double check. once again thanks a lot for the info.
 
I'm going to pick up my replacement in a few minutes, original one had a bad disk but all the rest was perfect, so i hope this one hasnt got anything else strange and i hope a WD disk and not SEGATE crap!!!
