mrapplegate mentioned this in another post and I thought it would be funny to actually do

This is an ANONYMOUS poll to see what percentage of people on the forum actually have developer accounts, bought developer accounts for Lion, or pirated lion.

I would like to add the disclaimer that by forum rules, piracy is not condoned and please don't reply with how to pirate it or where to pirate it.

And also, the results of this are just for fun and curiosity, but if the mods aren't comfortable with this, feel free to delete it

I paid some guy in a trenchcoat for a flash drive with the GM

(I don't have the GM since I'm an iOS dev)

I checked out the back alley where Rick Astley made his song and got sold a copy by a guy who strangely resembled him. He even wore the same creepy trench-coat.

Great poll, I was surprised so many people pirated it!

You should add a "I don't have Lion" option so that everyone can answer something :D

Mine evolved by itself by means of random mutation through defective input and output operations in a primaeval hard drive. The end result, by sheer luck, happened to be the Lion GM. It must have been so, for I have it. Lucky me.

I wonder if this is the kinda stuff you think about when a Computer Science major has a Biology minor

I personally don't think there's anything wrong with people obtaining the GM to try it out to ensure their system runs it well enough before making a legitimate purchase.

Anyone who keeps the GM when the legitimate download is only £20.99 is nothing but tight fisted. And, who's to even say that the GM will get updated via Software Update? It could easily be updated via the Mac App Store only, rendering those sitting on a pirated GM thinking they've scored a freebie, sorely disappointed.

I fully plan on buying Lion upon released and have the iTunes credit sorted waiting :apple:

I get paid on Friday, so fingers crossed it's released this week so I can get my copy from the App Store the second I get paid.

My RAM upgrade is on it's way from Crucial, now all we need is Apple to flick the switch and let the Lion roam free.
