Good pick. That was the only kit I've tried that didn't give me any skin irritation.i just ordered a Starter Kit from The art of Shaving (unscented).
After a hot shower is the best time. No irritation, and skin stays smooth.
That's part of what the wet shaving that shecky posted is about. There are different ways to wet shave. I personally would use a safety razor. I really like this razor, and I'm seriously thinking about getting it. The razor itself is about $25, and the blades are under $3 for 5 of them. That sure beats the money I'm paying for Mach 3 refills.

That's exactly what I use. I love it. Took a week or so for the nicks to stop, but now it's great. I bought a box of 500 blades from someone on ebay for ten bucks. I don't have a brush yet, but I'm thinking about it.
i also just discovered that Nordstrom carries a lot of the supplies in store that i ordered online from the Art of Shaving for the same price; and i live 5 minutes from a nordstrom's. doh!
You are set for life now, eh?![]()

I dun get it. What's the difference between a "wet shave" and just shaving in the shower. If I started using the brush, some shaving cream, and shave in the shower, I'm not sure I'd even need the brush. It's supposed to be good because it's highly water absorbent and is needed to mix well with the shaving gel. If I shave in the shower, surely my face is wet enough. That problem is already solved. Using a showering "cloth" or foam brush or something on your face should help exfoliate the skin.
Also, how often do you replace the blades on those classic razors?
Ahem... *fetish scene*...
I want to say something, but I'm going to refrain...![]()
