The problem is not the headphones. I could easily leave one of the stupid adapters connected to my Shure headphones. The issue is all those occasions where you quickly want to pull your phone out to connect it to somebody's audio gear in a more professional setting.

why are you playing music in a professional setting from a phone?

Because it's convenient. I can throw demos of my own recordings directly from Logic into my iTunes and carry it with me to listen to it in different settings (cars, stereos, other peoples studios, rehearsal studios). Or it can be as stupid as wanting to play a specific setlist during a break at a live gig. So, another adapter that I need to keep in my cable case (which then gets left behind by the end of the evening and swiped by the bar's sound guy...).

However, after just flipping through some news articles: the bigger scandal really is that they still limit the storage between 32g and 256g.

I don't care whether you use them or not, shifting to proprietry tech is a completely anti-consumer move.

I know they want their 'wireless future' but let's face it, no one can afford that yet.

this is why my band has its own sound guy :)

Not an issue to me. I can still use my older headphones with the dongle and prefer wireless anyway.
