What package do you have? Do you get those speeds sustained if you download say 10GB?

In Australia, Optus caches the Speedtest server or something, giving results far, far higher than your actual speed. I'm guessing that's what happened with the this guy?

"this guy" is me. So if you want to refer to me, I would appreciate that you do so directly, instead of in the 3rd person.

And no. That is not what happened to me.

Sorry, I originally had the post written differently and I changed it with the quote and such but forgot to change that part >.<.

And really, you have internet that fast? Wow.

That result was over a year and a half ago. Can you run it again, for old times sake?

Here are my results. Depending on the server I use, I either get good speed and crap ping, or decent speed and good ping. I'm paying for 50/5, btw....

Hey all.

I love this thread! Let's also start posting our pricing.
My Uverse which is posted w/in is 24 down, and 3 up. I pay $45 + tax/ Home, not business.

I can't even buy faster speed at the moment from anyone.

So those who are destroying our minds with these speeds. Please enlighten us on how much/ whom, and how. Also, please pipe in if these are corporate or Educational Speed tests.

Cheers!

Download speed is normally double this. Although this upload speed is 20Mbps..

This is at a university, so it's educational.

I'll post my speed when I get back in my dorm room. Normally around 40Mbps down and 20Mbps up.

I use my local cable provider. I pay a little more than I should, because I only get internet from them, with no phone and cable bundle discount. Mine is 50 down and 5 up for $85 a month. I think it is supposed to be $100, but when I upgraded to it, I was given a discount, since I'd been using them for many years. So, it is sort of pricey, but for the speeds I get, I'm fine with it. It uses the "Power Boost" feature that many cable internet services offer, and I've seen over 110mbps down, and almost 15mbps up during those short bursts. It is quite nice.

What does this guy do with 324 jigabits?
Something something flux capacitor, something something DeLorean.... :D

But really, who knows. That result he provided was from February of last year. I asked him to run it again, just to see if it still is the same, and that he really has that... but he has yet to respond. I'll be honest, I'm skeptical about it. It IS certainly a test that was run at some point on Speedtest's site, but that is the fastest result I've ever seen, from ANYONE, not just someone in the US. But if he really has that kind of pipe available to him, that is pretty sweet.

My 1.5 mb/s line with 50 gigs is $50 a month, though there are a couple of plans that are better value in our area, I may upgrade it at some point.

My home wireless has 42,18 Mb download and 4,5 Mb upload. No monthly download limit tho, for aproximately 8 euros/month.

I pay about $50 a month. Cox cable in Tulsa.. They need to get their ass in gear and offer better uploads

(current speeds) 40mbps down, 9mbps up
BT Infinity - unlimited bandwidth option
£24.99 a month
(also get free wifi at hotspots, really useful with an iPod/iPad)

ˆˆˆˆEurope kicks the states butt with standard offerings :(

Mainland Europe are quite lucky, but us Brits have had a bad time with our connections. It's only in recent years that the public has had access to anything above 8mbps. It was only in July this month that we could finally upgrade from our 512kbps connection!

What surprises me are the bad upload speeds in the US. The down:up ratio is kinda steep.

Yep, our uploads on data have always been poor (same w/3G as well).

I have fast speed for my area at home, but at work (which is only 1.5 miles away) I cannot get anything faster then 3M down w/.5m up.
Business you see, cannot get the packages that residential users get. Makes no sense AT&T btw.

At any rate, I see these speeds from across the globe and can't help but be envious.
