Wake up Apple and give us the things we need..............

NOTES - Still cant sync
To-Do - Doesn't exist
Cut & Paste - Wake up Apple
Bluetooth - People still cant believe it when I say it doesn't work, when they ask me why, I'm stuck for words.
iCal - The Calendar colors don't match the colored dots on the iPhone.
3G - its a pain to switch on and off every time I want to go online ( I know I can leave "on" permanently BUT if I did this the phone runs low on Battery by 5pm ) Apple should put this tab on the first settings page under the wi-fi tab for a quick selection. Currently it takes 5 clicks to turn 3G on & another 5 to turn off, doing this MANY times daily is a pain.

This is what I would like to see on the first page of settings.....

Airplane Mode
Wi-Fi
Enable 3G
Fetch New Data
Bluetooth
Location Services

And to add a few more:
Calendar - It is still not possible to sync with iCal on the local computer if syncing with an Exchange server is enabled. I want to be able to sync my private calendar events as well as my work events (Exchange), not just either one or the other. And no, I don't want to pay $100 for MobileMe just for that. While MobileMe is cool, I don't need most of the features it offers. I just want to synch iCal in conjunction with Exchange.
Contacts - Same comment as for Calendar. I want to be able to sync my work contacts via Exchange as well as my Address Book contacts from my Mac.
Home Screen Page Limit - Why is the number of pages on the home screen limited to 9 pages? I already have more apps that can currently fit. i.e. I can't access all of them.
Hierarchical view for apps - Even if the 9-page limit were lifted, the whole thing would still be messy. We need a way to organize apps. Perhaps via iTunes, similar to using playlists and smart playlistst. Something, please!
The current view was fine when there weren't any 3rd party apps, but now it needs something better.
WiFi syncing - I can live without this one, but it would be great if the device started syncing with iTunes as soon as I walked in the door or as soon as contents in the iTunes library change. This wouldn't be anything new. AppleTV is synced that way.

WHile I agree with a couple of these, I think Bluetooth works fine on my iphone. I use it with the Sync system in my Ford Edge for handsfree calling and it works and syncs flawlessly over bluetooth every time.

The one feature I could see as being useful that I am amazed is not included is MMS. I didn't even think to ask about it before I got the phone as I assumed it just came with it...even my wife's 5 year old Nokia does that nicely.

I'm happy... it fixed my gmail fetch problem...

as for the features everyone is crying about not getting.... I don't even see the usefullness of cut and paste on a device such as this... if i'm in dire need of cut/paste i'll just use my laptop... I don't think people realize how much work would have to go into engineering cut/paste on a touchscreen device like the iPhone....

the only thing that I would like to see is the ability to change how many vibrations there are for a SMS notification when on silent...

I was really, really hoping for landscape typing in mail and sms so I was a bit disappointed.

But now there's absolutely no lag in contacts an sms and I'm really happy about that. Also the new walking directions and public transit are really great. So overall I'm happy about the update. :)

I'm happy with it, although I've been generally happy with my Iphone since I got it. I've had No real problems to speak of at all.

I would like to see copy/paste but it sure isn't a deal breaker.

I have to laugh at the people that think they "deserve" something from Apple, you can request all you want but you don't "deserve" anything other than what was listed as features when you bought the phone. If you didn't do the research to know what it could do and what it couldn't before you bought it that's your own fault.

I'm ok with it so far.... so far my gmail is properly fetching regardless of the state of the phone and so far safari isnt crashing as much, but only time will tell.

After using Safari on my iPhone almost all day today I can tell you it's certainly improved a lot since the buggy old version! :)

Not a single crash, freeze up or even a the smallest of lags! :)

Send them feedback, maybe even flood them? Here's the link: http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html

Apple will make themselves look like complete fools if they make a big deal about copy and paste, other phones were able to do this from MANY years ago.
I actually thought we will get copy and paste in 2.2, now I'm not confident we will get it in 2.3 or even 2.4 update.
It feels strange complaining about copy and paste
My gut feeling is that it won't be available until the next generation iPhone comes out...maybe. If jesus doesnt think it's necessary, it's not. :(

Count me in as one of those that is happy with the update. The only things that have disappointed me is not being able to play some podcast videos but I'm guessing that's due to not being formatted for the iPhone to stream or play at all. The other thing is that a few radio apps don't seem to work but Wunder Radio has pointed this out and will at least be working on a fix. I'm not sure about the other one, myRadios, but I'd assume the same from them as well. It's always inevitable that something will get broken with the updates. I just ask that the developers put out a fix as fast as they reasonably can and appreciate their efforts.

no service

what a load of **** , as soon as i updated to poxy 2.2 i now have an expensive ipod due to" no service" icon and "waiting for activation "

been like this for over 2 bloody hours now ,( yes i,ve re-installed itunes , fresh firmware ,)
i even tried to go back to 2.1 but error 1013 keeps popping up

just my 2p worth on this stupid *******update

thankyou:mad::mad::mad:

I'd have to say I'm pretty satisfied... faster everything, street view is amazing (although they could've incorporated the accelerometer), and safari is much more stable.

Seems OK.

Haven't noticed any real differences (maybe the battery life have improved tad, or that might just be a coincidence).

Like the new "walking distance" directions in Google Maps. Excellent.

I'm just happy with this update... There really isn't anything new that really jumps out. The stability is always needed. An update is always welcome... No matter what it brings.

I have had to just say 'OK' for this

uk formatted phone numbers is great
pass lock keypad changes are nice
being able to turn off auto correction is also good

maps are now very annoying as they are in km instead of miles
dont like the new look of safari, looks to cramped with the address and search bar always at the top
dont like the click to auto return to page one of apps
dont like the auto prompt to rate apps when you delete them
