I get at least 3 bars and 3G everywhere iu go on a regular basis. The only time i get bad receeption is when i am in Atlanta(downtown) which is odd because ATT is headquartered in Atlanta GA

Pretty good actually. I do get dropped calls though. And some buildings have fair (2 bars) service.

Re: so what do you think it's about

It's ok in DC.

I tend to drop 4-5 calls a day, but whatever...you get used to it.

I also like how some days are 4-bar days and some are 1 bar days. You'd think it'd be the same every day, but I guess it's more fun this way.

AT&T is pretty good where I live. There are a few dead spots in the rural areas but I get 3G in most places I go.

My AT&T experience has been excellent for years.

First with BlackBerry & Windows Mobile, then iPhone. Only the iPhones I've had, have demonstrated poor phone performance, but that's normal.

Apple's focus is on other aspects of the iPhone. I could care less, since I carry other phones for calling anyway.

AT&T cellular service in the central Florida area is great. I have homes in DeBary, about 25 miles NNE of Orlando, and in Eustis, about 30 miles NW of Orlando, and both cellular phone and 3G network services are solid in both areas.

BTW, I see a number of posts in this thread with people saying that service is good or poor "here" but they don't say where "here" is. That would be helpful to know.

Was terrible. We moved last year. Our house became a cell phone black hole. We finally got 3G up to my work about 15 miles away. Then this year it made it to about 4 miles from the house. I had to get the microcell in my house to reliably make calls, before I had to walk outside to talk and set the phone down in a window to get text messages.

It is getting better. We have 3G right to the subdivision but my house must be made out of lead. Only one dead spot between here and work.

As I have VZW for work and gave the Evo a test drive this summer, ATT has by far the best coverage for voice and many times faster data service than either of the other two. I feel damn lucky as I've read plenty of the opposite, but glad it works well where I live and work.

service in my area of east los angeles is amazing. 5 bars all the time on 3g.

my gf lives in an area where theres 2 bars only, but still calls are clear and none dropped.

After having AT&T for 3 year's in Baltimore, Maryland I can't really complain. Only time I never get service is in school, oddly enough. Other then that thing's are usually fine.

i live in baltimore too and the at&t service is great. ive yet to drop a call and i even get service in school except for in my last class, where i have guitar because its all concrete and has no windows

At my home I have full strength as there is a tower 1 mile from the house. Most places I go the coverage is good and where there is 3G it is good and fast. However at my home, the close tower is only Edge. But it doesn't matter much because I have wi-fi through a Sprint Mi-fi card.

Overall I have been pleased with AT&T since I had first bought the iPhone classic in early 2008.

I live in Massachusetts, almost western MA, and the service is great. I have 4-5 bars 3G all the time. I have had Sprint and Verizon in the past and both were not as good. I can't really say that they are not good now though, as I have been with AT&T for 3 years and the other carriers I am sure have updated their coverage maps. I will stick with AT&T regardless.

Cincinnati Ohio is great. 3G everywhere, no more dropped calls than with Cincinnati Bell. There is an agreement between ATT and Cincinnati Bell so I think that the service I get from one is really service I get from the other BUT I have been happy with ATT since I joined them in late July.

Yeah, I had the 3GS before, so I've been using that for a while. There is just so much improvement that needs to be made here that it wasn't really making a difference.

At least some people get good service from them...wish I had.

Hmm, usually if you give them some time, they'll add new towers where necessary. At least here they did

In my part of Southern California, pretty good overall. As I've posted before, the gf is on Verizon and there are plenty of times that we can be side by side, and I'll get a call from someone who tried to reach her and couldn't while I get the call.
This is a BIG geographical area, so there are all sorts of places where signal on any carrier disappears. When you drive from one area to another, through the mountains and foothills, signal drop off happens.
