Still pristine black iP5, flawless out of the box, totally naked when in use
- try my best touching / holding it with clean & dry hand
- put it inside a cloth pouch when it's in my empty pocket - put it on the top outside of the same pouch in the table / desk when am using it (without holding it)
- slightly bumped it (by accidents) a few times against desks/tables/doors/some hard objects, no damage whatsoever
- I always gently take it out / put it down at the table, screen up
- it's been a week now constantly using it
- In few months, I won't be as careful / gentle as above, lol![]()
Nice report. One small spot wear the black anodizing has worn away on the bevel just below the volume button. It's easy to see if your looking for it but doesn't jump out at you. My phone was clean flawless out of the box. I noticed the worn area around day 4. A week or so latter no additional wear. I take sensible precautions with my iPhone like not putting my keys in the same pocket and not sliding my phone across my desk but I certainly don't baby it. I'm not adverse to a little bit of wear as it does not, in my eyes, detract from the look of the iPhone as much as a case would.
I have a chip on my black/slate on the corner near the power button. Not happy. I have a dedicated pocket. Never with keys or coins. It's flawless otherwise.
Already dropped it and got some of my own scuffs, I can already tell I'm gonna be using my Apple Care+ in the future.
At some point, will we get to use the Applecare if the phone starts chipping bad? Its hard to imagine that slate is so delicate.
My flawless beauty has been naked since I brought her home and she is still flawless. When I go out, I do slip her into a case to protect her from bumps and bangs and pocket lint but at home, she is the way Apple created her. I never set her down flat, she is usually standing (propped) on one of the business card holders that I have or she's in my hands being used. If I were to set her down flat, it would be on a protected surface, say with a piece of cloth or something between the iPhone and the actual surface. She looks great and performs brilliantly, so I'm happy.
I haven't used a case for any iPhones I've owned (and I've owned alot). Whenever my phone gets a scratch that 'annoys" me, I just go to the Apple store, give them a fake problem, and they give me a new, scratch-free phone. I have every intention of doing this with my 5 should it get a bad scratch on it. Yay for scamming the Apple store!
This is my first time going naked with an iPhone. This phone is just way to beautiful to put a case on it. I find that setting it down on the glass is the best idea when putting it down on surfaces. The glass is a lot less more scratch resistance then the aluminum casing on the back and a lot easier to clean without getting scratches and rubbing things in.
