I upgrade annually. Mainly because I have a strong appreciation for new technology. However, the iPhone X is a change I have been looking for since the cycle of the 6/6s/7/8 form factor and dislay. The X will only become more refined from here on forward. I look forward to see the enhancements for the 2018 model.

Same here. I’ve upgraded every year since the first iPhone in 2007. And I’ll upgrade to the X2, Xs, or whatever next year, haha!!

While I’ve always been excited to get the latest iPhone, I haven’t been this exited since the 4 and 6 launches.

Can’t wait till 11/03!!:)

I'm guessing three years for me, since that's how long I had my 4S and 6 Plus. Seems that's how long it takes for Apple to come out with something compelling enough for me to upgrade (in my opinion).

4 years hopefully, as my iPhone history to date is:

3GS (2009 - 2013)
5S (2013 - 2017)

So based on my track record, I should be keeping X until 2021, although I do admit that X is obviously the first generation of a new breed of iPhone, so not sure I will manage to last 4 years, as I expect we will see a far more refined version of X in the next couple of years
I like your will power. I normally buy new phones every year but mostly Android.

Four year design cycles. Like the iPhone 4 and 6, the X is a freshman. 2019-2020 will be the upperclassmen like the 3Gs and 5s you used.

Coming from an iPhone 6, so probably 3 years again. Maybe even 4 years. It is highly likely being handed down to my son at a point, so that could change things a bit.

Might be fun to revisit / reconsider the poll now that the X is finally out and been in hands almost a week now for many

Given the nature of this forum, I suspect that many people are just compelled to have the newest phone.

I am not one of those people. I won’t replace my phone until I feel that a new one can offer something significant over the one I already have. That’s why I got a good three years out of my 6.
I'll never do 3 years on a phone again. The last 2 months were painful struggling with a constant crashing 6 until it just stopped working 2 weeks before the X release.

I didn’t get a 7 Plus , my first upgrade I ever skipped. Aside from the dual lends camera it offered me absolutely nothing that my 6s Plus didn’t already have/do.

If it’s the same way with the X I’m sticking with it for at least two years. I may be tempted by a Plus model of the X but, as I’ve mentioned, my typing is much more accurate on this form factor. So that alone may be worth any other sacrifices.

I joined the iUP to get Apples latest flagship phone every year. As such, should Apple return to a September release then I suppose I will be keeping my X for X months. Hmmm, coincidence in the naming????

I’d love a X+ or X Pro. Whatever they will call it, if they do make it I’ll get it. If they don’t I’ll keep the X till its noticeable worth an upgrade. Had my 6 for 3 years.

It's almost guaranteed at this point Apple is making a larger iPhone over the current 5.8 iPhone X. And it only makes sense for them to do so, given they will expand on this new iPhone X in different sizes. The rumor is it supposed to be a 6.4 iPhone, which sounds Perfect for me.
