Of course we always have to wait. But latest Kuo rumors seem very disappointing regarding TouchID and iPhone 13. It says that TouchID under display will come to 2022 (Pro) models. Well, I can't imagine they will do the effort to design touch ID for iPhone power button, it is smaller than iPad Air 4, right? For one year only? Or maybe they do and will continue it in the cheaper iPhone 14 non pro line. Really hard to tell. But for quite a few people I can imagine TouchID would be a reason to buy a new phone. I really hope it would come to the 13 Mini for it to be more future-proof.

Now that I’m back out and about and commuting for work I am on a Mini again. I was using a Pro Max for a bit while still at home. Love the Mini. I’ll probably snag a 13 mini on sale around the iPhone 14 announcement next year, and just ride it out for as long as it lasts.
Commuting you’d want the bigger screen I would of thought?

I will probably get flamed for this, but I wish Apple would just put power button Touch ID and pin hole selfie camera for the non-pro iphones, and then have Face ID on the Pro models, like how the Ipad Pro/Air lines are. This would suit me just fine, and could even shave some cost off the Non-pro models.

No, I want something light and pocketable. I use CarPlay in the car, and I’m not actively on my phone much during the typical work day, or when I’m out running errands. Small makes sense for me in the direction the world/country is trending now.

I basically had to hold my Pro Max constantly because of the size and weight in my pockets.

You sure

Yup, I got an iPhone 12 mini. :)
It's a little creepy how you stalk me, but hey… :)

Returned mine for full refund. love the size, but the battery just doesn’t cut it for me. Same usage as the standard 12 over the last month and I’d be into low power mode by 3-4pm most days. Gutted really, but couldn’t deal with that long term.

I agree loved the size, but battery is dismal, and I;m not on it all that much

Now I'm a bit scared. I haven't had problems with the battery yet.
The only "problem" with the battery is the small size, in a small phone. Mine will last 2 days but I don't "live" on my phone. 95% of my usage is making phone calls. The other 5% is weather app checking mostly. If you need a bigger/longer battery life, you will have to go to the bigger phones, bottom line.

I get like 4-5 hours SOT with mine, on what I consider a heavy-use day. To each their own, but I’m baffled by those who need more than that, and even more so by those who need more than that but consider this phone.

I thought I could handle the battery “problem” to be honest, but alas not. It’s honestly a glorious little beast otherwise, but just not for me.

If it wasn’t a problem for you until now, then it won’t in future. (Of course every battery degrades throughout the time.)
My phone is around week old, but I can still game on it a bit and it has lasted me so far. If I know I can't charge it in the evening but the next day, then I save battery as much as I can and I've managed so far.

Sometimes it's limiting I understand. Maybe that's because my viewpoint is different because I'm not playing any games. But I ran only into one situation when I needed to charge my iPhone in the evening. Maybe it will change in the future, but for now I'm very happy with my mini. Today I reminded myself that great buy when I responded to one message and holding a box in my other hand. Not possible with 12 I used for a month. I'm very pleased with this phone.

Prices have dropped $300aud here from retailers, have never ever seen that 3 months our from a new model.
Officeworks has them even cheaper than JB.

Flying out the door, only white and blue left at JB.

I've had mine just over a week and it's great. I absolutely love the width because I have been able to use it one handed in either hand.

Battery: My 6S was ending the day at 60% battery remaining, but the mini is currently ending at high 80%s. I think the reason for the saving isn't just the new battery, but the speed. Things stay loaded and are appearing instantly.

Me.
I like iPhone 12 mini so far.

Aww, how sweet. I don't know you at all.
Nice to meet you Surfman.

@Surfman rides @iHorseHead LMAO … you guys are like The Odd Couple or the two old guys in the upper theatre row of The Muppets. That back & forth was awesome.

Without any context this means nothing to anyone beyond yourself.
Like what was the typical time of day for start?
What was the same use (apps, length of apps, was location aka GPS use a factor), was WiFi 802.11ac/n used heavily or WiFi 6? Was 5G used heavily? Again context. Too bad it didn’t work for you.
