Thinking of getting the 6S or whatever it's going to be called.
Apple Care+ for iPhone, is it worth it?

I always buy Apple Care for my Macs since it extends the warranty to 3 years, and the for the times I need, they are good investment imo. Furthermore, it works internationally, so I can have my Macs fixed anywhere in the world where there's an authorised Apple service center or Apple store.

But for iPhone, it's only 2 years. I used to have the 3GS, 4, and 5, and all the problems I had was either out of the box, or within the 1 year warranty.

What do you guys think? Any of you actually buy it?

I buy it for all my devices as its really a no brainier for the service you get

I do. I've haven't had to use it for any of the 3 iPhones I've owned (knock on wood), but better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it. I think it's worth the investment. An iPhone is a really expensive device, after all.

Edit to add:

Yes, it's only two years, but I think they base it on the expected life cycle of the device. People generally are ready to upgrade their phone after two years anyway, so if something happens after that point, most people will rather move on than have it repaired or replaced with the same model. With a laptop, people tend to keep them for longer than two years.

I generally obtain AppleCare plus on all my mobile devices from Apple. The main reason is their customer service and turn around time if my device is accidentally damaged. Plus the deductible is only $79 and turn around time is right away. So it works whether you travel a lot or not as I tend to travel in major cities where there is always an Apple Store.

The price you pay is inexpensive, it's one time ($99), and service from Apple is great.

I tend to buy my devices direct from Apple but you do have 60 days from the date of purchase to obtain AppleCare plus. I have yet to use it for other than general manufacture items where I have taken it in prior and they have just swapped it at no cost for me (which was great). It is good to have and gives me a peace of mind.

I bought AppleCare+ when I bought my iPhone 6. I have only had to use it once when my headphones got caught on something and snapped. Apple sent me new headphones and I returned the broken ones in the replacement box.

I've never dropped/broken an iPhone, but in my opinion the cover is worth the small addition expense as accidents do happen.
