I'm pretty much expecting it to happen. I'd be less angry if it was re-designed than I would if I missed out on something major (on the scale of Siri)

I'm happy with my 4s, Then again it IS my first iPhone.

Ideal situation for me would be if they kept the same specs and then just redesigned it. I wouldn't really care at that point.

Screwed up. The fastest selling smartphone ever. You clearly don't know how Apple operates

Oops... must have struck a nerve :)

My Galaxy S II is just terrific. But then again so was my iPhone 3GS.

My iPhone 4? It really sucks.

The old CEO was personally over-invested in the faulty external antenna. As reported in the Wall St Journal, Apples engineers told Steve about the problem months before release but he wouldn't listen. So they shipped it anyway.

Care about the customers? Surely you jest. His condescending refrain " You're Holding It Wrong" was quite the display of narcissism.

Just because they sell millions is simply a testament to all the people who've bought into the hype. It's certainly not a bad phone, but speaking as an ongoing Apple customer of over two decades, the iP4 was far from Apple's best work.

As many iphone users upgrade every year (me included) i look forward to to it! So does the wife as she gets my hand me down so is only ever one generation behind.

If they release it in June everybody can sell their iPhone 4s for 450 that's enough money to buy it with a new 2 year commitment 200 + 250 upgrade fee

I upgraded to the 4S, and I would welcome an iPhone "5" (6th generation) immediately. Why? because I can sell the 4S at almost no loss, that's the greatest thing about reselling Apple products..

Yep, I'll just sell my 4S and buy the 5.

Same, I have the 4s 32gb and ill have a full body skin on it as well as a case or two...The phone will sell for the same price it will cost me to get the 32gb iPhone 5 maybe even more...

will i be mad? no,i was mad the iPhone looks the same now so next year ill just bad happy..now if its not...Then ill have a hard time swallowing that upgrade pill probably.

While I agree with those who think it's not going to happen, I do think it's a golden opportunity for Apple to surprise people with a completely new style along with a larger display. That would stimulate a huge boost in attention & rebuild the trust many lost when they got screwed by Antennagate.

lost? Apple didn't lose anything but a few nights sleep in putting together a ******** presentation.

You're certainly entitled to your opinion. But you clearly don't 'get it'.
I like your WSJ fantasy story. Nice touch.

Not care about the customers, but the 'user experience'. Yes that is all they care about because that is what sells their products, therefore makes them money. Like i said you just don't 'get it.

Based on sales, the iPhone 4 was good work, and the iPhone 4s their best work. It's not buying into hype. Hype is something that doesn't exist. With Apple, you get what you pay for. Can't say the same for other manufactures.

A Apple customer for two decades, and you don't know how they operate by now? That is sad indeed.

I also own the Galaxy S2. Yes it is terrific. But I like my 4s. better.

I mean this with the best of intentions, but when you attempt to call out someone for spreading BS, just before posting say to yourself that just perhaps he is actually not fabricating.

I thought I had heard something similar but really was not sure so I did a search. The poster is correct and the WSJ article does in fact exist.

Hey, I have done the same as you several times :) so I have learned from my errors.

Doesn't matter. I usually make $50-$100 upgrading from previous iPhones so there is nothing to be mad about.

Bring it on Apple!

Slow down buddy. Never called out anyone for anything. Never said he was spreading BS.

Never said he way lying about the article, just that the article itself was 'fantasy'. Which it is. Rumor, gossip.

He is quoting a article as 'fact' when it is closer to 'fiction' in it's content.

How about learning from this error and not accuse people of things they did not do? ;)

Fantasy and fiction are not the correct terms. Perhaps anecdotal. You have no way to prove it is fiction just like I have no way to prove it is fact.

I upgraded from a 4 to 4S
Life goes on and you adapt to changes in technology

There are really more important things in my life than worrying about my phone

Well said, and to add to that, I could have waited for the next gen whatever it is called, but I liked the new camera, phone speed, and network speed improvements. I still love my 3G, 3GS, and 4 but I have made the decision to upgrade, so if Applke comes out with a new one in June, I will not be getting it or crying about it as I made my OWN CHOICE. There is nothing you can do but except technology is going to improve. Hey Verizon does this 6 months after the Droid 2 came out, Motorola and VZ released yet another Droid, so what can you do. Make the best of what you have and move on.....

4G - I live in the UK so couldn't really care less at the moment.

Bigger screen - One of the reasons I'm getting an iPhone 4S over other top smartphones is because of it's form factor.

Redesign - I doubt the next iPhone will look better than the 4/4S.

Saying that if the next iPhone is redesigned beautifully and has a nice form factor too I'll probably get it anyway.

I'm 100% convinced the next iPhone will be redesigned. I won't care. If the specs are good, I'll buy it.

I agree. They are so easily resold, that I wouldn't not be concerned.

They are perfect terms. You got my point exactly didn't you? That was my whole point. :)

Nope, not at all. It's very possible the story is completely true. I'd say even probable considering the source and the nature of the story. I honestly believe that Jobs knew about all the issues surrounding the iPhone 4 before it was launched and considered them to be issues that could be dealt with. Especially since one of the 2 issues is an issue all phones deal with (attenuation). It's the detuning that killed 'em though.

I think the amount of public uproar also took them by surprise.
