I still use my original 2G, and I'm quite content. I may upgrade when the next version comes out, but I haven't felt the need to do so yet.

And before anyone asks, I use it for everything: phone, address book, safari, iPod, games, productivity apps, music, movies, etc.

I'm currently using a 3Gs. If it wasn't for a fake customer that robbed me at gunpoint, I would still be using the original iPhone. I don't really buy new replacements unless my current product ceases (sp?) to function. As pretty it is, the iPhone 4 wasn't, in my opinion, a huge upgrade that was worth the money.
Now if the next iPhone comes out with an improved Gps chip, and is at least twice as fast as the 3Gs, I'll gladly hand my hard earned cash to Mr Jobs' (is my apostrophe use correct here?) empire.

Not Nice, did the police the person?

Fair call. I too would be tempted by the next iPhone if it was twice as fast as my current 3Gs.

And I'm no pro at English but I think that apostrophe is correct because 'Jobs' has got an 's' on the end so instead of doing 'Jobs's' it is 'Jobs' '! If that makes sense.

still working as good as new?
As well as the day I got it. Battery life is slightly diminished, but that is to be expected. I have run into one single thing I can't do: the NHL app requires 4.0.

I play Angry Birds, Osmos, and many other games, all without issue. Plants vs Zombies gets a bit sluggish, but nothing NEAR unplayable. Safari is a bit slow on EDGE, but it still gets the job done in a pinch when I am without WiFi.

My wife and I are both using 3G iPhones and will be probably until the summer. I can upgrade...as I originally purchased in the fall of 2008, her's was a refurb purchased a year later for $49 from AT&T. My phone and her phone are essentially the same age though, as I had a screen issue and was given a 'new' phone at the Genius Bar in August of 2009.

We have no issues...use them for everything. Battery life is great...easily now after the poor performance 4.0 upgrade (now at 4.2), behaving as good as new. I thought about getting a 4 back in the summer, but money was tight at the time so I am fine waiting at this point. If one of us has a problem, then we will upgrade before 5.

I do wish we had video recording though...that's the biggest feature I am Jonesing-for! That and the performance boost.:D

that battery's awesome. I can manage about 6.5 hours between full charges.

It's a replacement handset from Apple which is about a few months old. (2-4?)
I assume it came with a new battery, so that is why I have stats like that and average about 2 days on standby times. I'm sure you've probably had your specific device longer than I have (mine is only a couple months old) but 6.5 still isn't too bad. I don't tax my phone that hard anyways. Oh, and look at this one I found

How was the quality of the refurbished iPhone you bought for $50? Any scratches, or blemishes? And does it come with a 1 -year warranty?

Yes, I it it on the 3Gs launch day so that's probably why it is 6.5. Also I do use it quite heavily.

using my 3GS and waiting for July for iPhone 5 or whatever it's name to upgrade! :D:cool:

I have a 16GB white 3G running 4.2.1 first iphone ever. im only 15 and had to buy it myself and it was the most cheap. Really like it.

My gf is using my 3G pay-as-you-go on AT&T, I'm rocking the 4. I don't see a need to upgrade every year, next one will probably be the 6.

Interstella5555,
How can your gf be using a 3G as a pay-as-you-go on AT&T when they don't allow it? I jailbroke and unlocked my iPhone 3GS for T-Mobile pay-as-you-go for just that reason. Is there some mysterious/tricky way for me to go back to AT&T as a pay-as-you-go?

I am on my 2G bough in 2007. Just a casual phone user. Kids play games on it, sometimes. They prefer my iPad, though. :)
