Me:1500, my sister: 20,000+

I think I use maybe around 1,500 per month, but you guys reminded me to check on my little sister's progress. She is a freshman in college this year. As of now: 20,459 texts 28 days into our billing cycle. I'm doing the alegrbra now to break it down further. Can anyone or their family members beat that?

About 2000 before I left the UK in August. While I was in Austria about 5 a month maybe.

In the last 2 days since I got back I've sent 44. I'm single now so I'll probably send less than I did back in August. I texted less before I got the iPhone because I hated hardware keyboards.

Thats insane!

So, counting 30 days for a month, and saying your up 12 hours each day....

Thats 42 texts an hour!

Do you get anything else done?!?! hehe :D

Haha, yeah, I get school work done and I think I send and receive a lot more than 42 texts an hour. Lol

I think my sister can, she's sophomore in high school, and she had about 28k texts last month with about a week left in our billing cycle.

Well I would have to say OVER NINE THOOOOOUUUUSSSSSAAAANNNNNDDDDDD!!!!!!!111 anyone see what I did thar? Side note I think my sister had 6000 texts in two weeks once...thank God for unlimited text plans or we'd be in the poor house!

they need roll over texts

sometimes i dont even use 200 and sometimes i get close to 1500 as some people will only communicate via texting...

Text plans are for suckers. Use textfree.

At the risk of being called over 30, I send almost no texts. I don't even have a texting plan. I do a lot of IM, and quite a bit of email.

Aren't you the guy who said his Messages.app doesn't stutter when bringing up the keyboard? Well, of course it's not going to stutter if you have no long conversations going. It's pretty smooth if there are no messages.

Then run around and tell everybody not to text your phone number and if they want to text you they should find one of the old texts that you sent them.

I tried that for about a week and it was far too much of a PITA for me. I'll pay the $30/mo for unlimited texting.

On topic: I voted in the 500 - 2500 bracket and probably use around 1000, 1500 at the most. And that's with me sitting at work with nothing better to do than text. When I was working mornings the 200 text plan was more than sufficient.

It's only $20 for unlimited texts.

Well, about 29 days into my billing cycle, I texted 15,019 (see below). In the end I believe I sent somewhere around 16,130 I am a 16 year old male, a Junior in High School, and have alot of friends. Oh, and don't forget that girlfriend who texts you literally 24/7. And yes, I do text back haha

You're right. But I'm on a family plan so it's $30 for me.

This is hard for me to even comprehend.

I can't imagine over 15k texts a month! I am a senior in high school (guy) and on average i text 1-2k per month. Now I am currently single but a few months ago when that wasn't the case I sent around 8k a month. That was being on my phone pretty much 3-11. 20k seems almost unimaginable of course I didn't text much during school (you know...to get into college and all haha).

That's 1 reason why I won't use textfree. I have 5 phones on my plan and $30 for unlimited texting, so $6.00 a person is cheap.
I text a lot because I always hated talking on the phone. All my friends and family text also, so it works out nicely. My wife and I even text all day long while we're at work to help the day go faster.

it really dpeends, sometimes it would be aroudn 2k, sometimes 7, sometimes even over 10.

most text gf:p

That averages to 731 per day!!!

The only possibility that I can think of is that they sit at home all evening after school and text for several hours, in place of having a voice conversation. In other words, they have a full conversation, as people would in person, except it's all text. Still ... 731 per day??? I remember when I was in high school - yeah, kids can easily be obsessive with things. I'm assuming they text in class also. (I'm glad we didn't have that when I was a kid - I would have never graduated. Lol)

Yeah... remember thats 731 SENT messages!

She has to recieve and read messages aswell..... Say she gets a reply to most of them, thats 1400 ingoing and outgoing messages a day... in a 12 hour day, thats about 2 messages a minute!

Thats quite a sad statistic

Kids need to get out and kick a ball around or climb a tree or something......

LOL I love when people use that reasoning. It's $20 for many things that you may want. You could go broke applying that principle to every $20/month feature you want.

That being said Textfree (amongst others) is a joke for all the reasons mentioned previously. If your going to text message get a plan or convert all the people you know into using IM or email.

I was replying to someone who said they paid $30 for unlimited text. I was telling them that it was only $20. Then they said it was because they were on a family plan.

My bad. I thought he did say twenty when skimming through the quote.
