If I don't know what the features are
And if I like them how can I say WHat I would pay for it

Is this poll considered to be 'How much would you pay after you have traded in your previous (insert device)"?

You guys realize $1500 thats laptop territory...

True - and don't get me wrong, I wouldn't pay £1500 for an iPhone - but I'd bet the majority of iPhone users get far more overall use out of their device than they do their laptops. Maybe if I hadn't spent £1200 replacing my aged MacBook this year, I wouldn't be so hesistant.

It's all academic anyways as I firmly believe the $1500 price tag rumours are a load of bs.

Over 1200 since I have a 6plus. 6s and 7 were horrendous upgrades and not worth the money so I didn't get them. Hopefully, the 8 is going to be worth it.

The iPhone will start below $1000. Likely $949 or $969

So:

64GB - $969
256GB - $1129

Isn't a iPhone 7plus $770? How did that goto $900-$1100 in the poll?

Take the price of a 7+ with 256gb of storage at $969 and add 7.5 cents in tax. No to mention AC+ or an Apple case.

No. I did not want it to get complicated for some.

It has been mentioned many times.

There are rumors that suggest the premium iPhone will only come in two storage sizes; 64GB and 256GB. If this is true, why do people think there is a 64GB base model as opposed to a 128GB base model?

It's obviously because Apple wanted to get the base price below $1000, and they therefore brought back the 64GB option for this device that they have so little supply that they can't make a 32GB option and is so expensive that they can't make a 128GB option because it would take the price over $1000.

Therefore, the 64GB is specifically to start the phone at a sub-$1000 price.

Not so sure if there will be a 64gb model or if the 8 will be under $1k. Still think the 8 will run between $1200 and $1400 each.

Yeah, I think Gruber has no idea what he's talking about. The guy thinks it will be called 'iPhone Pro' too, which there is no chance is happening. It's insanely bad marketing for this device.

A phone can't start that high, it simply can't. No one would buy it. The argument that people will pay anything isn't actually true at all of course. There is a definite point where people simply won't pay for something. It's the same reason the original iPhone had to be dropped massively in price some 6 months after its launch. People wouldn't pay for it, and people won't pay well over $1,000 for a smartphone.

Moreover, the phone does not cost more than $150 more to make. It's probably more like $100 more expensive for Apple to make. They wouldn't charge $1200-$1500. It's simply absurd and they understand business and no one would buy it (aside from a minute fraction of customers).

The phone will start below $1000. If it started at $1200-$1400 they wouldn't sell more than 3-5 million of them.

Gruber acknowledges that there will be a 7s and 7s Plus as well. To even think for a second that people would be willing to pay $500-$800 more for the 8 is absolutely delusional.

People will pay a $1000 and way more. You need to step out of the box and realize that $1000 is pocket change to some and other would go with out eating to afford the latest and greatest. The 8 will sell very well.

The 8 will be over $1200. Heck my 7+ with tax was over $1000 so I bet the 7S+ might cost the same as my 7+ But you can bet the 8 will demand at least a $200 premium for the entry model.

What does the cost of making the phone have anything to do with the retail price?

These arguments are completely oblivious to the fact that they could have always been charging over $1,000 if they thought people would pay that price. The problem is, people will not pay that price.

The 7 Plus at MAXIMUM storage of 256GB is $969+ tax in the US.

The premium iPhone will start at $949 or $969 and start at 64GB (far below the 256GB keep this in mind, far, far below the 256GB).

The 256GB option will come in around $1129-$1149. Enjoy.

I paid over $1000 for my iPhone 6s+ 128GB thanks to California tax. Was I happy about it? No. Could I afford it? Barely. Do I use it every day a lot and depend on it? Yes.

If the 8 is over $1200, I will keep my 6s+ for as long as it continues to get updates. Could I afford $1200 now? Sure, but I don't think I will.

$1200 is a LOT of money. $1200 can get me a LOT of things that I consider more valuable than a phone. My Macbook Air 11 was $750? after Best Buy discounts - I use that every day.

Give me an Apple Store refurbished 7+ under $800 next year (and give me $200+ for my 6s+) and I'll be happy for a few more years.

My doctor wants me to lose weight sounds like a great justification/excuse. Kinda like splurging on new clothes for some. :p

Mind, likely won't get one. The primary purpose of my iPhone is as camera and to forward calls and messages to the iPad. I'd still be using an iPhone 6 if I hadn't gotten the 7 for practically free after trade in (need to keep the 7 for 24 months for full credit).
