How much Xmas bonus have you received?

As the title says... Did you receive more than last year, as much as last year, or less than last year?
A couple of friends of mine are getting well north of $50K for their Christmas bonus.

As for me, nothing.
 
I thought bonuses was more of an anti-employee thing. Kind of like the santa threat for small children. Now be nice this year, or you'll get no Christmas bonus.
Nah, not like that. everyone in the entire company (small company) gets an equal Christmas check, from janitor (so small we don't have a janitor) to president, the bonus isn't tied to anything but being an employee. Now my commission is a different story...;)
 
$50 gift certificate to a local supermarket chain. Eh, it's better than nothing but it doesn't make up for my cancelled Chirstmas vacation.
 
Bonus? You're kidding me... business as usual. A salary is a salary. Still, we have other benefits that make up for it.
 
I got a $100 gift voucher from work last week but that's about it. Bonuses are usually given out after a year of working there, but I've only been there 4 months. But just after Christmas there is a pay rise on the cards.

and our pay rise that was due in August still hasn't been sorted and will more than likely be well below inflation!!:mad: :mad: :mad: :mad:
 
Something that I would find interesting is the demographics of this thread. I guarantee you most of the people in the UK wont receive a bonus. Just quickly scanning through the thread and looking at locations shows the US are winning with bonuses received.

The UK works the longest hours (in general) with the crappiest pay.

Damn I hate this place.

I was not aware that was the general trend in UK. I know Charles Dickens (a Briton) wrote Christmas Carol depicting Scrooge......... It seems better you should leave that place for a greener pasture. A few days ago, there was a storying on shopping in USA by Britons as the pricing in USA is about 30 to 100% cheaper than UK (iPod, Levi jeans, perfume, and etc). That means not much pay but paying a lot for products.

But ask your average working American how much paid leave they get a year plus public holidays...

I've got 30 days leave per annum plus bank/public holidays plus 4-5 privilege days. Wonder how I can find the time to get the work done sometimes...

That's very nice I get 25 days + bank holidays + 3-4 Privilege days.

But I also get, pretty much, the lowest pay out of any Civil Service dept.

Well done you. The trouble with me is the company doesn't earn if I don't work, so I'd just look at all those days as lost earnings. I still budget for 20 work days a year plus public holidays off though, even though I'll sometimes end up working a Bank Holiday thanks to the nature of what I do. Life is too short to not take time off to enjoy yourself.

Once I had 2 weeks off to go abroad and every subsequent day I had off after that came out of my pay. I had not had any other days off prior to the 2 weeks.

So i went to the doctors with 'stress' and got 2 weeks paid leave. Although I actually received about 1/4 of my usual pay.

Anyone in US want to rent a room out? NY or Florida would be nice.

The last company I worked for I got 30 days holiday. I worked 12 hour shifts. I had about 15 shifts a month. So in theory I could have 2 months off with full pay!
I was also paid £5K more than I am now.
 
Christmas Bonus - some of those mentioned above are nice. None for me. Our review time is at the end of the 1st quarter and any bonus would be given at that point.

Yeah, it's the same here. More competition for good, experienced employees over there, so they fight harder to hang on to them, I reckon. My feeling is, in Europe people tend to move job less, thus less risk of being poached, so less incentive for the company to pay to keep them.

No monetary bonus this year, but we had a company trip to Barcelona for a weekend - superb. I'd only have wasted the money on a couple of nights out and a game or two, this worked out far better.
 
6 days extra due to long service... and by god, it feels like it. ;)

I get 28 days plus bank holidays and an extra day at Christmas - with another 2 coming along in the next year or so.

I'm lucky in that I do work for a good employer. We do get a bonus each year which is a percentage of our annual salary, we also get subsidised theatre/concert tickets, the opportunity to use the company yachts and country houses, subsidised adult learning should we want to and, of course, a discount on everything that they sell :D
 
No Christmas bonus for me or anyone working in our division. Bonuses of any kind aren't a GE thing. Before the company I worked for was bought by GE, we would get a 10% bonus in March.

For comparison: I am getting 21 days vacation with 9 holidays and 2 floating days off next year.
