iPad 3 iPad Air iPad air 2
iPhone 4s 5 5s 6 plus....
The iPad 4 is not worth in my opionion... My family pick up the iPad and the iPhones sometimes giving me some money sometimes gifting me the new version
Of course I integrate with my money ( saving from student monthly cash :D:D)

I think I will update to iPad air 3 if there is something really new ( oled a stylus or something like that) and surely to iPhone 6s plus ( my father need a second phone for work... My old one probably will go to him)
For the Mac part I think that upgrading every 5/6 years is fine... This are very good machines and doesn't need all that

Still have the iPad 1 and not sure if I will get another iPad.

I find my couch surfing is with my 15" MacBook Pro Retina because I like resting it on my lap and using the track pad. Call me weird but I enjoy it more. I do own a Nexus 7 but that too gets used very seldom.

I find I am the same way with sitting at the kitchen table in the morning with my coffee. I just don't want to hold anything other than my mug.

I know there are cases that you can prop up the iPad but it just isn't the same experience for me. I also like being able to have my twitter window open next to safari.

The Surface looks cool but its not very sturdy from what I have been told in terms of having it on your lap with the keyboard case.

The other issue is I want to reduce the amount electronic stuff in my life. Not for money but I got so much cables, computers, tablets, cameras... I honestly use just my phone, macbook and nex-5 sony camera. I don't really need anything more stuff and I dislike having all of it taking up space.

Don't get me wrong I love technology and get all hyped with every Apple Keynote. I would like an Apple watch for the health monitoring stuff but I keep telling my self too I don't 'need' it. lol!

As soon as it is released, i'm still hoping but only a tiny little for a fix to the iPop.

What do you guys do with your older versions if you upgrade instantly? Trade in or sell somewhere?

My smartphones and laptops are essential for work, having the latest with the most resources is an advantage because my intense work load demands it.

Conversely my iPads are recreational thus I've only updated them once from the originals.

I'll use these till they're no longer supported. At that point I have no reason to replace them. They aren't important to me.

I still have the iPad 3. Waiting on more than speed and size changes because I just read textbooks on it. The battery life on the 3 is superb.

I'd like to get a new iPad right now, but I think I'll wait another year and get a cheap Air 2. So, my iPad 2 should last 5 years. Initially I thought it would be wasteful to replace my iPad at all, since I have an rMPB and a 6+, but the rMBP isn't a tablet and the phone is still not big enough. Stop making me give you all my money, Apple! D:

Stick with your iPad for a couple of years more... May I know how do you use all these 3 devices productively in a day? Given a chance, which of these devices would you get rid off..

My first iPad was iPad 2, which I upgraded to a Mini 1 after a year. I stuck with that for a couple years until February when I upgraded it to the Air 2. I only held off on the iPad Air because I wanted Touch ID on it. The tri-core A8x and 2GB of RAM really sealed my decision when it was announced. :) With how future-proof this device is, it may take me at least 2 years (if not longer) before I upgrade again.

My old tech collects dust. If I'm not using it I will sell it if it has any value left.
usually on eBay but sometimes here. I've found that with trades, you don't get offered anything close to its value.

I went from an iPad 3 to an iPad Air. I will likely keep the Air until it quits, the screen breaks or the 16gig storage is not sufficient to install updates

I update it every five months or so, I don't rush. Updated from iOS 7.1.2, to 8.1.1, then to 8.1.2. Next time I update will probably be soon, maybe 8.3.

I have owned my ipad 2 since 2011 and right now I would not have the need to update If I had listened to myself and gotten a bigger ipad. 16 gb is just not cutting it for me.

I own the 16 gb iPad 2 , a 64 gb 6 plus and a mid 2009 13 inch MBP.

Both the ipad and macbook are getting replaced this year. No other computer or tablet for that matter has stayed as functional as those Apple products.
