42, but act like I'am 12 if that matters.

Price is not really a concern for me. However what is a concern is the benefit I get from spending 300.00 bucks for a new 16g iPhone that will replace my 16g iPhone I just got in February.

The software will work on mine just fine. I already have a new GPS unit in my car and have no issues with speed on my iPhone. So to me, it just comes down to a waste of money. Plus I love my metal back on my iPhone.

Just my 2.5 cents

I was just commenting that I was 42 as well when I suddenly realized I turned 43 in January. Ugh!

Close enough to 28 in 10 days so I put that. Using AT&T since I first moved to iPhone in 2008. I only think the cost per value of the cellular plans are high. I'm quite fine with the costs of the phone itself. I just hate paying for unused minutes because a majority of my calls are free anyway.

Good Thread.
Perhaps now many can see why only certain people are concerned with different aspects of these posts. It depends on your age bracket. as well as other thinks.

17 here

I have bought every iPhone and warranty myself. I was paying for my data plan myself, but my parents now pay for it as part of a Christmas gift or birthday gift. I think the prices for cell service in America it a little expensive. We have At&t, and if I wasn't able to get a FAN discount on our account we would have a $300 monthly bill. We pay about $225 a month for 4 smartphones and 1 dumb phone and we have the lowest minute (700) plan and unlimited texting, with 3 of them having 2GB plan and 1 with a 4GB plan.

When I first started reading these boards in 2007 it was nothing like today. While there still are many great people here, there's plenty of trolls and members who honestly do not contribute to this community.

17.

iPhone plan is around £38 (UK) per month. Equates to around $58.

I also had to pay £25/$40 upfront.

I pay for this myself, part time job, studying in college and I keep on top of my phone. Never go over my limits. Well worth it in my opinion :)

When I got the iPhone 2G, I was 18. Now I'm 24. I miss the old GoPhone plan. It was a LOT cheaper! Used to sit in the car coming home from school with my dad and breeze through unlimited EDGE for 30 minutes. Wow, those were the days!

Breeze through EDGE data at a peak of what, 150kbps? Those were the good ol' days when the Internet wasn't so central in our lives. I capitalized the 'I' in Internet much like one would capitalize the 'G' in God:cool:

I'm 17 and have had an iPhone since I was 14. Bought an iPhone 2G used for $100 (AMAZING price at the time) and used it for a year. Then when my 15th birthday came along (Feb 9, 2011), I dragged my dad with me to the Apple store to renew my contract with AT&T and pick up a shiny new 8GB 3GS. Fast forward to September 21, 2012; I stayed home "sick" from school to get my iPhone 5 that I preordered! This is like an addiction

This addiction is costing you your education.

I am surprised your parents allow this sort of attitude.

When you eventually get a job will you call in sick for a new phone?

I'm 22 years old. I first got an iPhone when I was 18 in 2009. One of my friends gave me his 3G as a graduation gift in May, but I was used it on a GoPhone plan. That following June after returning from a trip to New York City, I started a contract and got the 3GS.

Getting the iPhone was one of the best decisions I've made. I continued buying each new model ever since. And although I've owned other phones (blackberry and android) since then, I've always came back to the iPhone.

Hahaha, I remember dragging my dad at 4AM to the Apple Store when iPhone 4 came out. When it was our turn, AT&T for some reason wasn't letting my dad add the iPhone to his account. So we made a deal with the guy to come back later without losing our spot. So we ran to the AT&T store, sat there for a hour or so until they opened, my dad paid his past due balance, and then we ran back to the store and told the security guy that the guy helping us would let us back in.

Then some guy in line got so PO'd and screamed at us, "WHO THE * DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?". :D

Fwiw, I agree with that guy. Shouldn't have been able to have your spot saved
