The results are bogus, I'm getting USA for machines stamped "made in China" and shipped to me from there. The date codes seem reasonable though.

It could have something to do with BTO and off-the-shelf products. My iBook was BTO. Maybe it lists some pre-configured units as originating from the US? The law about when you can say something was made somewhere is kind of complicated, as exemplified by CKDs and stuff like that in the auto industry.

main machine...late 2000 or early 2001 powermac and it still works and though it has os x on one hard drive, i still use it with os 9.2 most of the time and i plan to use it until the intel macs come out in the consumer level ibook, emac, or imac

main backup machine...late 1999 clamshell ibook, only 300 mhz, with os 9.0, and it's good for some low level games, adobe 2D stuff, and word processing

backup pc...mid 1999 compaq presario 1272 laptop, 366 mhz k6-2 processor and the lcd screen is dead so i have to plug it into a large beige crt monitor to use it and i would only use this machine for programming if i ever felt inclined

closet machine...early 1999 g3 beige powermac, 233 mhz (still works but no reason to use it)

My 15" PB is 16 months old.
My 15" iMac G4 is 3 years 7 months old.

Both are running well. Even so, it'll be tough to resist the new InteliMacs, if they are half as sweet as the current crop of hardware.

Mine was built in the good ol' USA haha!

My Digital Audio is a little over 4 years old. Well, at least the parts I haven't upgraded are.

My first mac (a Quadra 610) turns 12 this year!

It's about 9 months old. Still runs like the day I got it, actually better since I got Tiger over a month later. And better since then with all the updates.

The G3 that I'm using from day-to-day is about 6 and a half years old... I think. I'll check it out when I get home (I'm on a dual G5 at polytech right now - I really don't wanna go home :p)

My ibook is about 4 months old, and I just bought a used powerbook that i'll be getting next week. My second mac ever!

Well, my US built Rev A Power Mac G5 is hurtling towards its second birthday – and seeing as how the Coconut app dates iPods too, I'll mention that my Chinese-born iPod is only a week younger...

The PowerBook G3 that I use for almost everything was originally made back in September 1998, so it is about 7 years and two months old. When it originally shipped it had a G3 processor running at 266 MHz (with 1 MB of L2 Cache), 64 MB of RAM, a 4 GB hard drive and a CD-ROM drive. Currently it has a G4 processor at 500 Mhz (with 1 MB of L2 Cache), 512 MB of RAM, a 40 GB (internal) and 20 GB (expansion bay) hard drives, a CDRW drive (other expansion bay) and a USB 2.0 PCMCIA card.

Even at more than 7 years old this system is still letting me be very productive and I have no complaints... and no good reasons to justify paying for a newer system.

The iBook G4 I'm using right now is 2 years old while my iMac G3 is going on it's 5th year. boohooo... I'm going to need to buy a new computer soon or else, I won't have any to play with.:D
