17" 1.25 GHz G4 iMac, purchased December 2003 - coming up on 2 years old! It's suited me just fine, no problems whatsoever, so I don't see myself buying a new Mac for a couple more years.

My 15'' PB is about 3 months young now. My first mac and I simply love this machine & software. I plan on adding another 1GB RAM & Apple Care soon. I plan on keeping this computer for at least another 2 years. I may "have to" buy a new 17'' intel PB after that. :p

You've got a great start on a Mac collection. New iBook, new Mac Mini, new Nano. AWESOME! Way to be with Apple!

i'll say...we should change the name of this thread to, "how new is your current system"

12" PB - just over a year
15" PB - just over a day
30Gb Ipod Video black - 3 days
2Gb Nano Black - 2 months(ish)(broken :()

new mac switcher...loving every minute

My iBook (the one in the sig) is about 16 months old. I'm looking forward to upgrade it to an intel based PowerBook next year.

Mine's almost 5 years old now. It's been a good machine, but as you can tell be my sig, I'm upgrading... now if it would only get here...

I think I'll update my machine when Macs are shipping with the following:

- dual core Intel processors (Conroe/Woodcrest)
- OS 10.5 Leopard
- iLife '07
- Blu Ray drives
- 1 GB RAM standard
- 500 GB HD (minimum)

That should keep me waiting for a while... ;)

10 years old

Of the 23 Macintosh computers I own, I currently use a Power Macintosh 8500 dual 200MHz most often. This computer has 512MB of memory and two hard drives: 8GB and 50GB. I also use it with external DVD-RAM and PD drives and an Apple Color OneScanner. This weekend I will be adding a 120GB hard disk drive to the Power Macintosh G3 BW 450MHz and may then use it more often. I also use my Quadra 840AV almost every day.

My ibook g3 600 mhz is comming up on 4 years. get the extra ram. it is well well worth it. I am kicking myself for not having maxed it out sooner.

Though my dad had macs dating back to Apple II, my first OWN mac was the 12' PB I bought 6 months ago.....will use it as long as it can last....though I am pretty sure I WILL be getting the 2G intel PB...mostly 15' :) ;)

Well I'll probably be killed for saying it, but...

My computer is a Dell Dimension 4550. It's 3 years, 3 mos. old and will be replaced when the Intel PBs come out, plus a week or two. ;)

Same. HD might be a little lower, though ;)

Current mac:
15" PowerBook G4 1.67Ghz 1280x854
ATi Mobility Radeon 9700 128Mb
1.5Gb RAM
Bluetooth
Airport Extreme
80Gb HDD

Current PC:
Asus a8n sli premium
AMD 3800X2
NVidia Geforece 7800GT 256Mb
2Gb Ram

Basically what i do all the time, a good mac of some sort, normally portable for desktop activities, and a PC for games

I bought my PowerBook (first and only Mac) in September 2003, so it's now 2 years and 3 months old. And still going strong.

Not considering an update for a very long time yet, although to be honest the current 12" PB is not considerably better than my machine.
