Loooooove it!!! It keeps me from throwing my husbands pc thru the front window. (he's running vista)
It fits in my purse, it keeps the grandkids entertained. No more "computer shrine" in the livingroom. it's easy, it's fast, it's all bright and shiny......
(13" 2008 MBP)
Runs Skype fast without the pixels breaking up. I may not know how to use 1/2 the functions but the same can be said about getting married. Didn't know most of his till later either, and the Mac needs less "software upgrades" than he does!

I have an original 1.83Ghz Core Duo MBP from 2006. It has worked fine for me for both work and home use for over 4 years now. XP under Parallels has worked well but I've noticed with some newer apps like Office 2011 things are starting to bog down a bit with the maximum 2GB of RAM.

It has had some issues. I'm on my third battery, the first one died after about 6 months and apple replaced it, the second went to about 2 years, and right now the 3rd one can't be used for more than about 2 minutes without being plugged in before the laptop shuts off. I've been holding out for a new MBP/MBA and don't really want to spend the money on a new battery.

The optical drive died about a year ago.

I'm looking to replace it in the next few months with a new MBP or the new 13" MBA. I feel somewhat bad because for 95% of what I do it still works great.

My MBP is four years old (bought December 2006) and works like a champ. I've even dropped it once onto a very hard surface. I've worn the silver off some of the key tops and the burner part of the super-drive has crapped out after burning a goodly number of CDs and DVDs. For $100 I got an external burner and was good to go.

Initially I had one of the defective chargers, so now I'm on my 3rd charger and second battery. My current charger and battery are off-brand units and work as well as the Apple branded ones.

My MBP has an Intel Core 2 Duo running at only 2.33 GHz. It's fast enough for anything I've wanted it to do, including playing SecondLife... a very graphics intensive virtual-reality game that turns my MBP into a little toaster oven.

I only have 2 Gigs of RAM but I've never run into a situation where I needed more.

My MBP goes everywhere I go. I use if for all my business and personal use. I love the stereo speakers that are built in and the matte screen. What more can one say? It just works!

2008 2.2 with 500 gig GD 4mgs ram

39 months old, I have upgraded the HD and the memory. LOVE IT! and don't see the need to buy a new one yet.. Funny that my old toshiba lasted only 1.5 years before I needed to dump it because it wouldn't run VISTA! HA, never looked back and have converted over 35 people to MAC!:D

The biggest gripe I have with it though is that the battery life is starting to be terrible, I'm lucky to get two hours of use out of it. That can be fixed by buying a new battery...

Get a new battery from Amazon. Buy the best rated off-brand. I did and couldn't be happier, and can't tell the difference.

I have a 2008 unibody MBP and it still seems to be in so many ways like a brand new computer. Really an amazing device.

My old machine..... pehhh

I Had a 1.83 GHz core duo 15" mbp..but the logic went out, i suppose.
It was a great machine for the little time it was alive.

I tried to upgrade it and it was no success. its been collecting dust for a few months.. i chose not to fix it, even though i found a new logic for 350 ( apple quoted me $1200 for board, replacement, and labor....G.T.F.O.H.) Yes i know apple is high, im no stranger to it...lol.

Now days? the bottom case is sitting there with the PRAM and the inverter still connected to the HD plug while the speakers are still loosely sitting in there. Its stripped like a car in a chop shop.

Like the first post goes to say, core duo is Soon to be Out of here, i needed better....although i still wonder if that goes for core 2 duo as well....hopefully not for a while.

Although i dont have my desired wealth, i will be getting a 2010 mac mini with a core 2 duo 2.4GHz, 320HD, 3gb RAM with an HDMI plug and the wireless keys and mouse to go with it......for about 6...lol

If you get the base model like I did, it will probably be upgraded to a 2.4 ghz i3. I think that means that it is dual core but merges the processors together. This should not be much of an upgrade if you always have 2 or more things open. Don't quote me on this but I think this is right. As to mine, I bought it 5 days ago and I know that it will still be a good computer in the years to come.

7 months? Best laptop I've ever had. I wish the screen had more pixels (13") but the battery life, size and touchpad are perfect.
