Let's see here, we've got Apple Arcade, the games service for people who are overwhelmed by actual games, Apple News, where more space is taken up on screen by advertising than actual news, and Apple TV+, the streaming channel that brings you Ted Lasso, Ted Lasso, Charlie Brown, Ted Lasso, Ted Lasso, and oh yeah, like 70 other TV shows that no one talks about.

These are the best services they've ever created with an Apple logo on them, hands down.
1. Severance - fantastic
2. Silo - very good
3. Black Bird - very good
4. Morning Show - good
5. Little America - very good
6. Mythic Quest - very good
7. Coda - won best picture and was very good
8. Killers of the Flower Moon - likely many Oscars
9. Napoleon - likely also will be fantastic.
10. Tehran - very good
11. Bad Sisters - Fantastic
12. For All Mankind - many loved (didn't watch)
13. Defending Jacob - very good
14. Servent - good until it wasn't lol

If news+ actually blocked all ads, that would be great, but I still see them everywhere…

I've been using News+ for about a month now, and never noticed any ads. Sometimes a subscribe link or something, but what am I missing?

(not that I WANT to see ads, but I was curious about an example)

We canceled our Apple One plan, but we’re keeping the family iCloud Storage and Music plans. TV and Arcade were nice to have, but weren’t used enough to keep it around, unfortunately. Oh well.

Don’t forget about Severance, although I suppose it’s looking more and more likely that we’re never getting a Season 2…

This is a great reminder to not use the cloud for anything, from any company unless you absolutely have to.

Cloud storage = giant tech company got you by the #&#$ into perpetuity. Do you really need cloud services in exchange for a slight convenience of syncing your phone / photos to your Mac?
Yes make sure you have no backups so in the event of a disaster it can be one more twist of the knife.

And if you're going to say host at home and do offsite backups total up the cost/time of every drive to the remote location and the hardware investment and maintenance.

You will still save but the actual amount is a lot less than people lead on.

If you use most of the services and/or have a family, Apple One is still by far the best value. Obviously production costs for video content will be going up (thanks in part to labor strikes) — who did you think would be paying for this? News publications probably drove News+ increases as well. Arcade has quite a bit more content available than when it first started — did you think the price would stay the same forever?

Did MR publish a tutorial of how to cancel your Netflix subscription when they almost annually raise their price?

So you have a deep understanding of the costs involved in these services? Sounds like a speculation based opinion or judgement. It IS possible that in order to maintain the same profit as last year they needed to raise the prices that amount. We have NO idea what is going on behind the scenes and what cost increases Apple is having to adjust for. It is of course possible they just are trying to see just how high they can go until losing subscribers. I for one have just adjusted down on my services.
Delicious trillion dollar company boot. Mm mm.

Dropped from Apple One Premiere to Apple One Family plus 2TB option (yeah, I have a lot of photos saved in iCloud and need that much space).

Price hike was just too much! Will no longer have Apple News or Apple Fitness but didn’t really use them anyways.

I may still drop down to only Apple Music and the 2TB option (so many price increases lately), but haven’t made a final decision on that yet.

Apple News, Subscriber Edition, right now:

Story "Donald Trump fined $10,000 for second gag order violation in civil fraud case"...

There are three different ad sets inserted into various parts of the story as you read it. Then there is another block of ads after the end of the story.

The irony of the one on the right

Yeah...nope at $38/mo.

Basically stopped using Fitness+. I use News+ for the crossword puzzle which I can get elsewhere. Arcade I use to find a random game to play, but there are plenty of games in the app store. Music I use occasionally, but I can get by without it (Maybe I'll go back to just buying music...does iTunes Match still exist?) And that leaves Apple TV+, which surprisingly I use the most out of the services, but most likely I'll cancel after the $9.99 jump.

So now I am just down to my $9.99 iCloud+ 2TB. Thanks Apple for saving me $28/mo! 😂

Except for Severance, the rest is trash.

No ads are showing on that article for me or any other articles I’ve clicked on. 🤷🏻‍♂️
