How is it possible that the notch is "growing on you"? Do you have an iPhone X already? Or have you simply made up your mind that Apple's sloppy design still merits your parting with over $1,000 of your money?
I do not have one as of yet but have been looking at them online and it’s not as bad as when I first saw it.

That would be a truly tragic thing for someone to do.
You’ll be surprised

I have a set of these coming but would prefer professional paint or such. Anyone know of a type of vendor I could go to that would paint that well without having to disassemble?
Maybe an auto body shop?

What you're saying makes sense, but I'm currently looking on MB's website and I can't seem to verify your claim about the Mercedes logo being biggest on the smallest model. The logo on the front of the A-Class looks exactly the same as the logo on the front of the AMG GT. I believe logo is the same size on all BMWs too. Have you got any links to back this up because it'd be very interesting if true.
Try jag hood ornaments.

i'd prefer a good hobby shop - the guys behind the counter should know a ton about all the various enamel paints they carry, and have the skill to do it for you too.

Auto body guys will be all about spraying large surfaces, using with dull paints that need to be covered with clear coat.

How about a seasonal song? (Even if it's the wrong season)

#Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer
Was the one with LTE
All of the other reindeer
Got their data locally
All of the other reindeer
Used to laugh and call him names
They never let poor Rudolph
Join in any reindeer games

Then one foggy Christmas Eve,
Santa's iPhone died
Rudolph with his nose so bright
Helped them all get home that night

Then all the other reindeer
As they shouted out with glee
Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer
Thank goodness you have LTE!

(Personally I still think it looks stupid though and I'm not sure adding stickers is going to help that much).

It really is simple to do, I do not understand the angry complaints about red crown, I understand it’s not everybody’s preference but it’s a dot that can be covered up, or you can just deal with it.

If iPhone X customers can deal with the notch, then you should be able to deal with a red dot at the side of your watch.

You're waiting another year to upgrade your Series 0? I have a launch day S0 and I'll be upgrading to S3 when I can. Feel like this thing is way too old now, and I purposely skipped S2.

I think the real question is, when is the next Major revision of the Apple Watch releasing? Now that we have seen three models of the same physical design, what does Apple have in mind for new hardware changes and when. That's what I would like to know. I don't know that we will see a third year in a row for the Apple Watch.

I don't mind the red but prefer the black dot on my stainless steel watch... it matches the black display and has a more understated elegance IMO.

I agree. I was shopping for Mercedes GL and they did tell me that the large big lighted logo comes in the expensive version.
[doublepost=1505747819][/doublepost]My question is opposite: once I buy the watch, can I remove the red dot?
I think that red dot is meant to be permanent (anodized?). It's not a sticker, but a sticker will temporarily cover it. I jokingly posted an image of some rotary tool sanding bits. That's actually how I would it. Sand down the color and polish it.

Does anyone know why the digital crown is red as opposed to color matched to the rest of the case? If the answer is, "Apple wanted to be sure everyone could recognize the latest device", that's B.S. I suppose that could also be one of the underlying reasons why they chose not to make the "notch" on the iPhone X less obtrusive. Everyone will be able to recognize the iPhone X, that's for sure.
If they made the notch less obtrusive (in terms of hardware), then the complaints would be questioning why couldn’t Apple just make it that tiny bit smaller so the bezels would be even. But a notch isn’t part of Apples vision for the future of the smartphone, so hopefully they do work hard on integrating the technology into the top bezel or have components under the display. That should be a priority.

I don't know if it is a symptom of millennials or just a function of runaway affluence, but when I see all the handwringing about "the red dot is hideous," and "the notch is disgusting," or "FaceID will be slower to open my $1000 phone," I can't help but feel sad for our society.

Having traveled much of the world, I've seen people with barely enough food to eat and dirt floors be happy and grateful for what they have, while here people are traumatized by a red dot on their smart watch.

I'm not saying that people can't complain, but jeez people, get some perspective.

The red dot was the redesign. I'm partially kidding, of course.

I actually don't think there will be a major redesign until they can get around some of the tech constraints. As it is, what they've been able to squeeze into the 38 is amazing.

Also, the design is already iconic and stands out from all the me too products out there. And, unlike other Apple products, it's made to be highly customizable with a myriad of Watch bands and watch faces making a redesign less necessary.

Valid points here. I actually really like the rectangular design. I think it's modern and it holds it appeal to me, as I own the stainless model. Ultimately what I would like to see, i is perhaps a larger watch face and A
watch face store where we can have a selection of various watch faces besides receiving two or three incremental watch faces a year.

Regardless of what Apple decides to do physically with Apple Watch, I still question when we will see the next version of the Apple Watch and when? Because I don't see the Apple Watch being updated an annual basis. And now that we have had the same design for three years, I would imagine we would see some physical tweaks for the next model.

The logo on the front of a Mercedes is largest on their least expensive models, and gets smaller as the models go up in price. This is done for that very reason.
Their least expensive model is also their smallest one. Thats why the 'Stern' looks bigger.

Nothing about this was random.
From a product perspective, having a differentiator is important. From a design standpoint, it is terrible because the Apple Watch used to be a neutral accessory, and now it is not. It can literally clash with colors of bands that looked good on the previous version

I’m probably the only one but i like the red dot

I like it, but I also understand why people don’t because of the colour clashing that can and will probably take place.

All this being said, I do also believe that there is too much noise about it and people are taking it way too far in how vocal they are about it. I get it, you don’t like it. Your biggest voice is not what you say on social media and MacRumors, it’s found in what you choose to spend your hard earned cash on. Don’t like it? Don’t buy it! Simple.

Do they have anything to cover the iPhone X notch?

Yes - just buy two packs and put them all on. Two packs means you have six so you can overlap them quite a bit and thereby esnsure the notch is covered. It doesn't matter which colour you buy, but if you have a new series 3 watch then maybe red?
