How did you get SIM swap to work? Every time I try it, it tells me that the phone has to be activated until I put my Straight Talk SIM back in...

That's what I did, but I think you have to do the Tmobile SIM swap which ain't working for me...

Another Member posted his guide... try it out:

- Put in the T-Mobile SIM in and navigate to the APN settings.
Press the home button twice and jump into a different App (I used Apple's Notes App).

- Take out the T-Mobile SIM and insert the Straight Talk SIM and let it register on the network.

- Press the home button twice again to change back into the APN settings screen. (You have to be quick on the next step because the APN wants to keep switching back to "phone.")

- After you enter all the APN info - scroll back up to the top to make sure the phone kept what you entered before hitting the back button to exit the settings. You may have to reenter the APN again if the phone replaced it with "phone."

- After exiting the APN settings then reboot the iPhone, open Safari and wait a min for the internet to connect.

Every time I do that, it instantly takes me to the lock screen and tells me the phone needs to be activated...

I've input the settings, but I still can only get 4g, No LTE and no picture messaging. I'm in Miami, FL. Running iOS 6.1 Jailbroken by Evasi0n. Any help is much appreciated.

Have you used the following settings with the new LTE SIM card from Straight Talk:

APN: tfdata (goes in 2 places)
MMSC address: http://mms-tf.net
Proxy: mms3.tracfone.com

If you are using the att.mvno settings, they will not work!

has anyone successfully gotten lte using an old st sim card? i tried once, failed and haven't tried again. my sim is from january 2013 so it's not that old but i feel i need to spend the 7 bucks and cut my sim down once again... ugh

And you are using the new Straight Talk LTE AT&T (not T-mobile) card, correct? If that ain't working, you might have other issues...

I'm using the new Straight talk LTE Sim. Bought it this week from straighttalk.com. I'm using a verizon iphone 5 that i bought from straight talk.

Ahhh, I haven't tested the Verizon SIM from Straight Talk, only the AT&T... Not sure what to tell you... Possibly different settings for that setup doing the SIM swap?? Verizon is CDMA technology, AT&T / T-Mobile are GSM technology.

That is your issue. The straight talk iPhones run on Verizon's 3G network and are locked I believe. If you buy an unlocked model from apple or an ATT one then the sim will work

I went ahead and bought an AT&T iPhone 5, I'll let u know how it goes

I just bought the Verizon iphone 5 for Straight Talk to find that I have 3G speed and cant talk and surf simultaneously. So, according to Topcat, that means that even if I buy an AT&T simcard, I will not have LTE (given that I have a verizon iPhone 5)? I still can retun the Verizon iPhone. Any recommendations on where to get a new or refurb AT&T iphone 5? Should I buy the 5S unlocked from Apple? Any other advice is appreciated. Thanks.

Return to Verizon for sure! You can probably pick up a 5 from ebay/craigslist.

PS- As I understand ST also sells their own iphone 5, but runs on verizon 3G towers (No LTE either)

Personally I would buy the 5s as it will hold up much better in the long term compared to the 5 with longer updates and the new 64bit chip. But if you want to purchase the 5 I think ATT has refurbished iPhone 5 that are still available on their website. The may also have some 5 stock in store
