I have a Verizon iphone 5, which is factory unlocked and I bought one of those byop st packs from Walmart last week which I believe has the new LTE sim and my data and mms are working but not getting LTE. I did the sim swap and my APN settings are right. I'm not sure why my LTE isn't working. Any ideas?

you will not be able to get LTE on that phone on AT&T

I purchased my first iPhone today, the 5c, and have been with Straight talk for almost two years now. I'm assuming I just need to go to Wal-Mart, and get a new SIM and transfer my number to the new card? And my LTE will also work? Currently my SIM card that I got T-Mobile to cut for me isn't allowing me to use 3G OR LTE. =/ Saying that I need to activate my cellular data network. :(

Wal-Mart does not sell the SIM cards, you need to buy it through www.straighttalk.com

Then what is this?

They may sell them online, but I've never found them in stores...Besides, for $0.11 more, you can get free overnight shipping through Straight Talk, and you will know you are getting the LTE card... The one you linked does not appear to be the LTE card, it seems to be the old 3g card.

Sucessfully activated LTE on Straight Talk

Hello to everyone, just wanted to confirm that LTE is working on Straight Talk.

I just replaced SIM card and installed APN settings from unlockit.co.nz and everything is working.

My iOS is 7.0.2 and Carrier version TFW 15.6. ((I was asked to update carrier settings once I connected phone to iTunes.))

Thanks to all for useful posts.

Yeah, the price wasn't the problem. Just didn't want to wait. I did what you told me and just ordered it online from Straight Talk. And one Wal-Mart did carry a SIM card, wasn't the right one. Oh well.

LTE on the Verizon iPhone 5 is locked to Verizon only. You won't get LTE on any carrier except verizon if you have an iPhone 5 from Verizon, but it is sim unlocked to use on any gsm carrier, domestically in the U.S. or International, but without LTE.

However, with the new iPhone 5S, that is not the case. The iPhone 5s from Verizon can be used on any carrier except Sprint and will get LTE. That's the reason why I didn't buy Verizon iPhone 5 because I wanted to use it on T-Mobile and take advantage of LTE.

Do I Need a New ST Sim card to get LTE on Verizon 5s?

Sorry if this question has been answered. I recently purchased a Verizon 5S and am NOT impressed w/Verizon's LTE in Seattle. I'd LOVE to go back to ST. I will save money, even if I pay the early cancellation fee. Question: Do I need a NEW sim card to get the LTE speeds? I still have the old one.

it's probably best to get the new sim card.

Yes, you have to have the new LTE SIM card to get LTE service...

so i have a verizon iphone 5 with straight talk. currently using the old sim. i also purchased a new sim when the LTE rolled out. i understand LTE wont work, which im okay with. mms does not work for me. i have tried the sim swap method w/ a tmobile sim and it just doesnt work. can anyone confirm if i use the new lte sim card if MMS will work?

also i tried the new apn settings and i get no data or mms. using old straight talk profile gives me data and no mms.

Hi everyone. I've noticed that almost no one in this thread is talking about cutting the micro cards to fit the nano slots. Are you all doing this as a matter of course and that's why you're not mentioning it? Or am I missing something?

I'm trying to get my gf's unlocked AT&T iphone 5 to work on Straight Talk with LTE and MMS, she's transferring over from an iphone 4, and it seems I'll have to get the new AT&T LTE micro card online and cut the card, right?

Thanks!

Called straight talk and they are telling me I have to update to ios7 for lte to work. I do not want to loose my jail broken iOS 6.1.2. Has anyone gotten lte to work on iOS 6?

I think you can get everything working the same as iOS 7, but you need to install a custom APN for data, or do the SIM swap trick to get both data and MMS working.

Yeah, cutting the card to nano-size is no problem. I just did it with a utility knife.

They sell a bundle that includes a sim card and a month's service in the stores. I believe the sim card price works out to be $11.99 this way.

******update*****

helpful hints & tips

I have yet to see this posted anywhere so ill do it here.

As of nov 2, walmart.com does sell straight talk AT&T LTE sims, even tho on the product image and description lack the word "lte" .

You can go to unlockit.co.nz/‎ like before to set up apn settings, use the straight talk (new) option.

Might be a good idea to update your ios.
once apn were set, my att iphone 5 was showing "HOME 4G " my ios was 6.1.4 and my carrier was AT&T 14.2 or 14. The next day my signal dropped to zero and I lost service (due to the building I was in), once I walked out the building I Had LTE but only for a few hours which went away and 4G stayed. I just got done doing a software update to 7.0.3 which changed my carrier to TFW 15.6 and now I have LTE that seems to stick around now.

Also check out the AT&T LTE coverage map so you know where LTE is and isn't at.

Free Shipping

I ordered the ST LTE micro sim for unlocked GSM phones to use in my Verizon iPhone 5s. The only free shipping I could find is Free Fedex 3 day. Not a problem though, I can wait that long. From reading this thread I believe I ordered the correct sim. Someone please correct me if I wrong.

After I cut card to nano size and install all I need to do is go through iTunes to change my cellular settings correctly. Is this correct?

Thanks for any feedback.
