Yes, it works fine for me... You need to enable Netflix and Safari for use wih apple ipad.

Yeah did that too. Still doesn't work for me.

I get this error Alert this device cannot instantly stream from Netflix in your area. Netflix must not like Phoenix.

Alert failed to register is another popular response. Seems like Netflix is actively blocking iphones through some other means of detection.

Sometimes it takes me to the app store where it tells me netflix is only available for the ipad.

Wow, I've stumped the band.

I can only get sound through the headphones, not through the speakers. Is anyone else having this problem?

Have you rebooted your phone since you installed Netflix? If not do that, you MUST restart before Netflix will work.

Yes. And to save time I've done all the obvious things and followed all instructions, YES ALL INSTRUCTIONS, to the letter.

Clearly by the amount of negative responses to this thread, and several other threads with similar instructions, this just doesn't work for everyone. Maybe it's based on which metro you are in or maybe netflix is the wiser and blocks iphones somehow from using the service because the instructions here just don't work.

Are your permissions set to 755 for both Netflix.app as well as netflix? Double Click on the Netflix.app folder and it will open and there will be a folder called Netflix in it. Check to make sure the permissions are also set to 755. (0755)

And no Netflix is not the wiser, I am watching Southpark on Netflix on my iphone as we speak... It works, just have to figure out why it isn't working for you.

Clearly you screwed up. It is not selectively working for some and not others. If you do it right, it works.

Why don't you re read my original post that you replied to. Especially the word everything. Everything means everything. It doesn't mean I only followed step 4 and skipped all other steps.

Do you also live in Phoenix? Then it could be a different reason why it doesn't work here as opposed to where you live.

Clearly the instructions do not apply to everyone everywhere.

I guess someone will have to fly to your local area and see if their install works there. From what I'm reading here, it may be something with your internet connection, not the installation. What internet connection are you using? Is this in your home, a wifi hotspot? Have you moved to different locations to try it on different networks? How about trying over 3G to eliminate the wifi as a possible issue?

Just trying to help. It's a great mod once it's working!

i got it to work. maybe im missing something, but we have to go through safari everytime to get to netflix? the icon on the springboard is not useful at all?

lmao... I was trying to help you. Not my fault you can't follow directions buddy. I was unaware "Pheonix" has their own set of "special" restrictions enabled on the iPhone. So they dislike immigrants and Netflix on the iPhone in Arizona huh? Sucks for you dude, but you do you, and I'll continue enjoying my Netflix on my iPhone!

lmao... 3G is 3G and WiFi is WiFi. There are no "special restrictions" that prevent people in Phoenix from running an app on their iphone through Safari. If that was the case then iPad owners in Phoenix wouldn't be able to run Netflix neither. But hey, I like your style. Next time I have a problem with my iPhone, I'll just blame it on the fact that I live in Texas. I'll say Texas has "Special Restrictions" on what I am able to do with Safari on my AT&T 3G Network.

On Second Thought no I won't, I'll just figure out the problem and fix it... Having a brain has it's perks!

I was getting it to work with Perfect Browser after I fixed permissions. Now I can get it to work with Safari and User Agent Faker. However it doesn't seem to continue from where I last left off like with my other devices or even my iPhone. It's okay though, I rarely watch anything on my iPhone. This is for those rare occurrences I want to watch something and my laptop or iPad isn't around.

I got it to work on Safari!!!!!!!!!!

Here is a vid on YouTube that really helped me. I followed it exactly, but they left out a step. If you are not sure, then scroll down to the comments section. It's the last comment that will help you using USER AGENT FAKER. You must make sure that under APPLICATIONS, you turn on Safari and Netflix.

Here is the linke to youtube video:

This worked for me a few days ago but yesterday I restored and re jailbroke and now I keep getting an error. When I use atomic browser and select a movie the netflix app pops up for maybe half a second and takes me back to my springboard. I've installed and uninstalled like 4 times...any suggestions? I've checked the permissions box as well as used terminal with ssh and have done both during one attempt and still a crash. Any ideas?

Ugh netflix needs to come out with this app already, I'm getting tired of the irritating "get netflix for ipad" message I get whenever a movie ends and it opens up the appstore every single time.

Netflix for iPhone now in App Store!

Your prayers are answered! Netflix app for iPhone/iPod now updated and available for the iPhone. This was a great thread and I'm glad I got to use my iPhone for Netflix before the mainstream.

New app UI is more iPhone friendly. Enjoy!
