Streaming a movie over 3G now...good stuff. Takes a second to get it going but I've been steaming a movie for about an hour now and no hiccups.

I just signed up so I'm using my free two week trial. Requested my PS3 disc yesterday.

So far so good. I'll probably continue my service. I think the Netflix interface could use some work though.

I think the biggest question of all is "Why in the world is the official app not out for iPhone yet?"

Seriously, it got announced almost exactly two months ago.

I'm sure the limiting factor is not the development of the app but the scaling of the servers. With millions of iDevices in use already, they need to be prepared for a huge surge in usage. It's probably at least an order of magnitude bigger than the iPad, probably on the order of the Wii.

this is great. already have a netflix acct that I used on my mac, ps3 and ipad before I sold. setup was quick.

used user agent faker rather then the other browser.

on my netflix.app it was already set to 755. also it doesn't work. halp?

This sounds like exactly what was happening to me. I noticed my Netflix.app was already set to the proper parameters, and it stumped me time and time again.

It turned out you have to go "deeper" than Netflix.app

I was going to /private/var/stash/Applications/Netflix.app (which sounds like what you're going to)

But you have to go "deeper" to /private/var/stash/Applications/Netflix.app/Netflix

Works great here as well using Atomic Web Browser.

Didn't work until I used the "chmod -R 755 /private/var/stash/Applications/Netflix.app" command using MobileTerminal version 426. Prior to setting the permissions correctly it just tried to start and crashed to the home screen.

I love the Jailbreak!

got it working first try i was shocked it works great just hate the whole selction thingy proscess but it does the job watching "the Injury" The Office episode :)

Im sure it has been mentioned - just wanted to confirm:

No need to purchase Atomic or Perfect Browser; User agent faker works great - just remember to set user agent to iPad and you are set!

Thanks!

I don't know if it is a coincidence or not, but ever since I updated User Agent Faker and hid the Netflix icon via SBSettings, this isn't working anymore. I have since un-hid the icon, but it still doesn't work. Do I need to set the permissions again to 755? Or has Netflix patched this?

Edit: I figured out the problem. The updated version of User Agent Faker requires you to enable it for every application you want to use it on (just like 3G Unrestrictor). I just did it for Safari, and Netflix to be safe, and it now works again.

Hello. First I should begin by saying thanks and that the mod worked for me and I'm glad I can now see Netflix stuff on my iPhone. I was getting really tired of waiting for Netflix and Apple to come around on this one.

Secondly, I do have a question. In my case I have to use the perfect browser to browse through Netflix to choose what I want to watch, etc.. Once I choose something it opens up the Netflix App and shows me what I want to watch. Is this the correct way it ought to work?

how do i extract the payload folder from the netflix app?

i copy/pasted the app out of the mobile apps folder in iTunes to my desktop, can't seem to figure out how to "unzip" it after renaming it to "Netflix 1.0.4.zip"

The same way you would unzip any zip archive. If you're on Windows, you can open it like any folder; on a Mac, you will need Stuffit Expander.

Set this up this morning. This is VERY cool! Works like a champ.

Just curious...In User Agent Faker I set Safari and Netflix both on in the Applications tab. Is this necessary, and if so will it have any impact to normal use of Safari when I'm not streaming Netflix movies?

okay i figured out why I wasn't able to unzip the files, i had to enable "view known file types" and then change the true extension to .zip

Got everything to work last night, it's freakin' awesome!

HOWEVER, in using "User Agent Faker" it changed my mobile safari to always load the desktop versions of every website. So that can get a little annoying.

It would be nice if there was a fix for that, so it only does it when you open netflix, and otherwise always uses mobile sites.

Nonetheless, it's a pretty good feeling to see it working otherwise flawlessly :)

big thank you to the guys that figured this out, and to the nice people on this forum who are always helpful! :)

Gotta love Google Ads...Netflix add showing at bottom of this thread as I was reading!

I would also like to be able to have Safari act as full browser only when streaming movies then go back to mobile version. However, that's a small price to pay for this kind of functionality!

I love this forum, thanks!

Still running my free two trial of Netflix. Ordered my PS3 disc last week and was watching it on my PS3 also.

App runs great on my phone. After my free trial is over I'll sign up for the paid service.

Am I able to stream two movies at once? Like watch one on my phone/PS3 and kids watch one on the Wii in the other room at the same time?

Anyone else watching a movie for a decent time interval, say 30 minutes or more, then have it shut down and go to www.netflix.com/WiHome ? Happened to me today while watching 2012. Thinking this is not the perfect solution, but hoping that we'll refine it over time as more people attempt this.

When it's up and running, looks great. Trying to finish the last hour of the movie now...hopefully without interruption!

Update: Oops...happened again. Might have to uninstall.

Streams fine for me. The only time I had a problem was before I did a complete restart.

After that it's been flawless.
