Is this true? I just went in and saved to my favorites and the Verizon payment plan was an option. That’s what I chose before ‘favoriting.’

I hear DJ Khaled has been in touch with his friends at Apple again. It seems he’s given permission for the most powerful servers to be dedicated to website traffic. I’d head there first guys ;)

I'd like to buy the X without entering my carrier info as my employer pays for service, but I own the device. Do I have any ability to pre-order?

Seriously? Thanks a lot. This is almost as bad as offering public beta OS to those who have no clue what its about.

I know it lets you set up the order and save it with your AT&T/Apple/Verizon/etc. installment plan specified, but when you actually go to the saved item, no payment plan is specified, only the chosen carrier-specific model. I've been wondering about this because it'll either save time or create extra steps depending on whether the installment plan preference is stored as part of the favoriting. Does anyone know how it works in that regard? I've favorited items and zoomed through purchasing before, but only for stuff like the Apple Watch that's full-fee up front.

Because you can’t use a payment plan with the Apple store app. Only pay full price or use Apple IUP

I would also add that Apple has a tendency to push back the pre-order window by an hour the night it goes live. If you try to open the app at 12:01PST and it doesn’t work, your best bet is to go back to sleep and set an alarm for 12:55 or so. Otherwise you’ll be sitting around for an hour, you’ll probably fall asleep waiting, and you’ll miss out.

Now I need to figure out how to buy 2 and both are first time joining IUP. If I buy it cash I will be in the same boat next year.

From what I read they need to be bought separately so the second phone might be delayed if it really sells out fast.

Nope. Not true. At least speaking for AT&T, AT&T Next is integrated with the Apple Store app. I know because I used it last year. I'm just wondering if favoriting retains that info.

Strange. When I tried to do a test run and “upgrade another phone on this line” I tried with the 8 with my wife’s number and was told I’m eligible for ipgrade but can can only pay full price through app. I have Verizon

Because far more people are trying to use it.
Assuming most people buy things with their mobile device (I guess almost nobody can be bothered to use their computer, especially after waking up in the middle of the night), are you implying that they visit the Apple Store website with their mobile device instead of using the app? Serious question - I'm a bit puzzled as to why there should be any difference between the website traffic and the app traffic: I assumed that they all depended on the same servers.

This is pissing me off. All of my cards are coming up with the wrong billing address. When I go and remove the address (from everywhere, phone contacts, apple pay in settings, and updated apple store billing and shipping information) as soon as I try to use apple pay it adds the old address back on. Any ideas on how the hell to get rid of an old address???? Is it loading them from the credit card company automatically???? I mean I have already contacted them months ago to change my address and the CC company apps show my correct NEW address so where the crap is the old one coming from? It's an easy change but this will cause me time to switch when making the purchase grrrrrrr

Has anybody actually done this before? The reason I ask is that I’m seeing this “how to be quick” article on a tonne of websites who all are offering the same advice yet I wonder if they know this from experience or just assume that. My concern is that come midnight tomorrow, Apple’s taking down of the site temporarily could reset all of our baskets/favourites and we waste valuable time then going back to square one.

I remember trying to upgrade before either on the 7 or the 6 and it was frustrating how the app/site didn’t come back up until about 12:08am.

I was chatting to a guy in my local Apple store this morning who said they have had 100,000 pre approvals for upgrades in California alone. Eeeek.

I wonder if the reports saying there will be 2-3 million units for launch day is referring to preorders or walk-in supply for stores. And also if that is for carrier stores too or just apple.

You're all being a bit melodramatic here, no? Apple is reported to be releasing at least 2-3 million iPhone X's. These will take at least 20-30 minutes to sellout, perhaps several hours.

Sounds like you owe money on the current device then. Works for me fine on AT&T.

If I try to pre-order on the 27th while preapproved on the IUP, is the option delivery only (and to use the trade in kit upon receiving the iPhone X) or can I actually reserve a date/time at the Apple Store on/after launch day?
